Hi Guys, firstly i hope everyone had a great day yesterday and drank and ate till they were full in the tummy like Santa.
Now for the real reason i trouble you all.
We had a mate over for Xmas Drinks yesterday afternoon and he spots that my rear brake cylinders are leaking pretty badly, usually not a problem for me to get fixed or parts and do it myself but, being Xmas and all, we are wanting to hit the road Tuesday morning to go camping BUT now dont want to be "Captain Risky" and head off knowing they are leaking, so the BIG question is, does anyone know of a spare pares shop that is open around Ipswich,Brisbane or Toowoomba this weekend that would have the brake cylinders and brake shoes for a 2005 GU Patrol Cab Chassis?
i have already contacted Supercheap and have been told that any store would need to order them in and could take up to 2 weeks :-[ :-[
SWMBO will love you guys for ever if we can get the parts as shes been dying to get away for these few days since Easter

TIA

LD as a last resort strip them out and disassemble them. Often although the rubbers will be worn it will be rusty gunk that's holding them all stuck and causing the leak and a good clean up and hone or sand out the cylinder and wash it all in metho and you may be okay for the trip. Plus once the seals are out quite possible you could find same diameter at an auto shop.

Maybe bursons

Auto one is open today
Auto pro might be open
-
Repco are open and 25% off parts I believe
-
thanks for the replies guys but all those options have been expired now :-[ :-[
apart from stip it down which i was sort of holding off on till it was the last resort, which i close i guess.
seems Repco and AutoOne only stock till 2001 for some reason which is quite dissapointing

Dont know Nissanes .. but going by this specialist the rear brake wheel cylinder kits must be all the same from 1987 to 2015 for cab chassis types http://patrolapart.com.au/category/cylinders (http://patrolapart.com.au/category/cylinders) ... http://patrolapart.com.au/product/nissan-patrol-genuine-drum-brake-wheel-cylinder-kit/nissan-patrol-genuine-drum-brake-wheel-cylinder-kit (http://patrolapart.com.au/product/nissan-patrol-genuine-drum-brake-wheel-cylinder-kit/nissan-patrol-genuine-drum-brake-wheel-cylinder-kit)
Worst comes to worst and you cant get new brake shoes, wash as much brake fluid out of the existing ones as possible by repeat flushing with Shellite or metho and drying of with clean cloth and leave them in the sun to dry out ..

hmmm, ok thanks edz

ok guys, have parts and fitment underway by an unqualified mechanic (me) but we should be on the road in time now ;D ;D ;D

thanks guys

LuckyDog lts Xmas put the hammer down . Only slow down 1 1/2Ks before the pub . This will let the tyres cool & the rig slow down for more  to be collected . Or don't go .
What ever is the most exciting . Be Safe

If ya get pulled over for speeding, tell the cop ya got no brakes and ya trying to get home quickly before ya have an accident.
Good to see ya got it sorted out ok.
