A brilliant letter from a Paul Carpenter. It's doing the rounds.
Dear ISIS:
Congratulations. In a period of about three days you’ve completely screwed yourself in every strategic and ideological way imaginable.
You’ve motivated frenemies like Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin to huddle together with no pretense and figure out how to end you.
You’ve forced Belgium to admit it has a problem. You’ve motivated the Iraqis to start driving you out of its borders. You’ve even made everyone start liking France again. And your historically bad week is just getting started.
Russia is now taking out your oil tankers without regard for collateral damage; there goes your only revenue.
France is using its air force to blow up your stronghold as the world cheers it on; no one even knew France had an air force.
Putin has given up the identity of your funding sources, and he’s now willing to give up his longstanding protection of Assad in the process. But more than merely motivating the militaries of the world to take out every last trace of you, you’ve done something far worse to yourself: you’ve lost your identity.
World leaders are no longer referring to you as “ISIS” or the “Islamic State” because they’re not willing to let you pretend that your terrorist agenda is in any way connected to Islam.
You don’t even get to keep your acronym anymore. Now you’re being referred to as Daesh, a name you hate. We even let the French pick out the name, because they’ve more than earned it this week. Muslim leaders and Muslim rank-and-file around the world despise you, and you’re completely out of allies.
You seem to want World War III. The trouble is, you don’t have the muscle.
You don’t even fully control a single nation, and the world has taken out half your assets in a matter of a few days.
It’ll take far longer than that to gradually wipe every trace of your existence from the earth, but that’s now inevitable. So thanks, ISIS or Daesh or whatever name we might choose to call you against your will. In these divisive times you’ve somehow managed to unite the entire world.
Congratulations on that. Winking face

Thanks for sharing mate. :cup:

Who is Paul Carpenter when he is at home.
Whilst that letter has a lot of emotion that most of the world would be feeling it is full of Shit. You will never wipe ISIS of the face of the earth. The issue that will remain forever and a day will be in Europe and the west with lone wolf attacks and sleeper cells of suicide bombers.

Geez, way to help Daesh spread their fear mongering rhetoric. ???

Actually I believe the biggest challenge for anglo-Western thinking is that whilst there remains the gross disparity between the so-called have's; (ie: that's meant to be the 95% of "us" ...) and the; (-- how many billions of individuals are there??); .... living on this planet on less than $2.00? a day:- the issue can be manipulated to .... the have nots always seeking:---- (read kill; distroy; blow up; influence; brainwash; etc...)... from what they see as the "haves"...
(Think Hitler 1934 BINGO ...)
I think that in this cauldron any crackpot religion or belief system can be manipulated.... even 'pure Islam'...
Its the "top" 3 -5% of the bell curve of disfunctional wealth distribution that let's the world down imo........ There really is squillions $$$ up there (ie: cash and spendability) - not working for nobody .......

1 billion. Leaving 4 billion living off more than that. The world is better off than you think and better off than it has ever been. World Income distribution changed during the last 50 years. It was 2 humps, rich and poor with a gap in the middle, but now it is a continum where most people live in the middle. So strangely, while the distance from the highest to the lowest is wider than ever, the incomes of the world population are spread out between these extremes and the gap is gone.
This vid is quite a nice illustration. The stats at the end are quite interesting. 80% have electricity, use contraceptives, have jobs.

Should just cordon of a big chunk of country, invite the daesh rats to a gleaming pile of bait and when they all pour into the area to take their glittering prize and gloat ..
Whack in an alluminium overcast express of B-52's and anything else that can carry napalm and turn them to dust ..create a fire storm that would make Dresden look like a sparkler..
A bit of give and take if you will...[ give them a false win then take them out ]..

That's just a waste unless it's done for New Years celebrations and then we've got coals for the spit pork. Everyone here has there 12v sorted, should be a good party. 💂🏿🚅🚉💣💰🎂🍻

The author is kidding himself if he thinks ISIS does not reflect Islam. The article seems to be more about trying to separate the two when in actual fact, ISIS is exactly what Islam is at its core. ISIS is the playing out of the true Muslim faith of, believe what we believe or be killed. But the softies approach will keep trying to water it down. There will never be peace under Islam because essentially there will always be those supposed 'moderate' Muslims who are not Muslim enough for the more radical followers and they will be targeted along with anyone else who doesn't believe their faith.

Not much different to most other religons.
More wars have been fought and people killed for religous beliefs than most any other reason.

No, this religion is pretty special on its own. You don't see Buddhists or Christians and the like, blowing people up and beheading people.

The trifecta, religion, politics and money in one thread. They're the three things my mum said never to talk about in public (or on myswag)...

Hmm Christian crusaders, Islamist militants, or the leaders of "freedom-loving nations", all justify what they see as necessary violence in the name of a higher good. Buddhist rulers and monks have been no exception - Buddhists are beheading Muslims in Myanmar:

While no Muslims have been killed in Sri Lanka, the Burmese situation is far more serious. Here the antagonism is spearheaded by the 969 group, led by a monk, Ashin Wirathu, who was jailed in 2003 for inciting religious hatred. Released in 2012, he has referred to himself bizarrely as "the Burmese Bin Laden".
Buddhism and non-violence
March saw an outbreak of mob violence directed against Muslims in the town of Meiktila, in central Burma, which left at least 40 dead.
On Tuesday, Buddhist mobs attacked mosques and burned more than 70 homes in Oakkan, north of Rangoon, after a Muslim girl on a bicycle collided with a monk. One person died and nine were injured.

Burmese officials, community leaders and Buddhist monks organized and encouraged ethnic Arakanese backed by state security forces to conduct coordinated attacks on Muslim neighborhoods and villages in October 2012 to terrorize and forcibly relocate the population,” HRW said in a detailed report in 2013. “Included in the death toll were 28 children who were hacked to death, including 13 under age 5. ”

I was more talking about in Western society, but anyway, yes the powers have spoken so no more talk of religion. Sorry to all involved.

What sort of vest was the girl on the bike wearing to kill one and injure nine?

A lot of nice rhetoric but the facts lay elsewhere. In the last month this mob have blown up a Russian airliner over Egypt, killed 130 Parisians going about their business, raided a hotel in Mali and slaughtered 40 guests and shut down Brussels for four days. The reason? Spineless western leaders like Obama, Turnbull, Cameron and Merkel who have vacated the playing field and left a mob of thugs the play the game by their own rules.
Sooner or later, hopefully sooner, the reality will force the western leaders to land a few thousand troops on the ground and deliver these murdering bas***ds the 72 virgins they think they are going to get.

Talk about what a beautiful and free country THIS GREAT SOUTHERN AUSSIE LAND IS...
Today in Brisbane CBD Edward Street at 11am I saw a woman walking down the footpath on her own fully cloaked in a black burka... head to toe.... the ones with just a slit for the eyes. ..
At the same moment just around the corner in Elizabeth street in a park was a huge rally 1000+ persons? ...
I saw a couple of "Lock the Gates" placards....

Of course it was a woman. Muslim men aren't oppressed enough to have to fully cover themselves ;D
