I started watching the Aussie movie on TV last night called (I think it was)
"The Day the War Began"...
I was amazed at the locations scenery ... particularly when the group was driving in the Landy on the dirt track on the ridge line of a gorge... As well as for the "Hell lagoon" scenes...
Does anyone know the locations that were used for the film - any information is appreciated...
Thanks

thanks for trying OM - but I could not see anywhere specifically on Wicki that gave the locations for the ridge line track - and where "Hell" was filmed ... ??
Anyway; no worries... I am sure it will eventually come up...

Haven't seen the movie but from memory I think there's a scene where a bridge is blown up. The bridge is over the Hunter River at Luskintyre, near Lochinvar, west of Maitland.

Don't know for sure but I "think" that the ridge-line track was in Kanangra-Boyd National Park.
Try: https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-33.984933,150.122681,10952m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en (https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-33.984933,150.122681,10952m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en) & you should see a track along the ridge. It may also be a public road, with open access? Maybe someone in that area can confirm that?
At one point, they're standing on the ridge, looking off towards the "sea" & "harbour" in the distance. Once again, I think that may be looking from the same area towards Warragamba Dam: https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-34.0256798,150.1247514,11.1z?hl=en (https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-34.0256798,150.1247514,11.1z?hl=en)
Wouldn't mind going for a drive through that area & finding out for sure :D

Total fiction
Everybody knows they already own most of Australia, why bother trying to invade it?

Iirc it was the blue mountains with the coast photoshopped in.
