Hi Guys, picking up the Eagle on Friday and going to head off for a few days to try it out. Is there anything i should know or do before i head off, and just how off road are they? photos would be great.

Congrats on the purchase.
The Jayco with the outback pack really is just a strengthened chassis. Everything above the chassis is the same as a touring model ie cabinetry, dust seals etc.

In short it can be as far as you are willing to take it ... As to the condition it comes out the other side or returns in, Is up to your abillities and how you go about it ...

I can't speak for Jayco, but i remember seeing a big warning label on another brand of offroad caravan in its front boot. The warning label said something along the lines of offroad use being limited to graded unsealed roads with light corrugations and anything else would void the warranty.
So for that model I take this as meaning that graded, unsealed roads that are maintained by an authority would be fine at an appropriately low speed, but anything that is an offroad track would be a bad idea.

Good god, i hope to go a bit rougher that. I guess those that know Victoria would know the Mt Terrible track, would it make it up there no worries?

I had a dove 2005.
I have pictures of it park right beside Lovicks hut with a foot of snow around it.
Been through 80cm water crossings. Been plenty of place though out the high country and more. Was even questioned more then once how'd you get "THAT" here.
Its all about how you drive it. Slow and easy, tyre pressures and a correct loading. I would also stress if you start putting it through its paces make sure you ARE capably at reversing and understand Jack knifing for tight elbow corners. ..... I covered the door vents and the fridge vents when travelling to stop dirt, dust getting in. Well help prevent lots getting in.
I had also added a off road hitch (highly recommend) and 33in tyres (to match my old landcruiser).
Go for it i say just take it slow an steady. Expect and pack for the worse, then it can only get better.
AND I only once broke the little guard that goes around the wheel arch

Bear in mind that the drawers, cupboards etc are just timber and screws. Fill a drawer with cans of food and do some corrugations, the drawer or shelf may collapse from the weight. Pack accordingly, drive accordingly, with the right tyre pressures, and you will get a lot further than you think.

I had an Eagle Outback a few years ago and dragged up the Gibb River Road, and a fair bit of gravel in the NT.
No dramas really and the cupboards all stayed together.
Low tyre pressures combined with the nut behind the wheel and it will go wherever your car can tow it.

As above.. pack the cupboards accordingly and drive to the conditions and they are quite capable!

Take the warranty book with you , drive as though you jazz crackers will get damaged if you go at it too hard & who wants broken biccies . lts not a race out there though some believe it to be . lf it all turns to Sh1t go back to the warranty book . Read it , use it to start a fire , dunny paper even make paper planes out of it , to keep you busy till help arrives . When you go hard the trouble you get into is in direct proportion . We pick it up tomorrow and im wondering if it will go on my hitch ok. i have a 100 series Landcruiser which has had a 2 or 3 inch lift, i have a straight out towing hitch not one of those goose neck type. Do you think this will be ok? or will i need to buy a gooseneck?
