I bought a Oztrail Mitchell King swag last week and have taken it out for the past two nights and have found even when the canvas cover is unzipped and rolled down the end of the swag, leaving just the mesh, I'm waking up with the top of my quilt very damp and the inside of the canvas dripping water. Underneath where I sleep is amazingly warm and dry, but the top of the quilt being wet is really Shitting me off.
I thought ventilation was the key to eliminating condensation inside, but since the whole thing is open this obviously isn't the case. Any ideas on what I can do?

Set it up home .. Saturate it then let it dry and repeat 5-10 times

Were you sleeping directly under the stars?
If you were, it's dew not condensation.
I've had 2 swags over the last 15 years, Oztrail single and ARB double, all being the dome type without any problems after being seasoned in the backyard prior to using.
I always have the head and foot end canvas windows slightly open.

. Normal sleep. No luck here. Sweating while at rest is minimal below 85 degrees(about 29deg ). You do lose a certain amount of moisture in your breath and by evaporation through your skin; the latter process, which doesn't involve the sweat glands, is called insensible perspiration. Total water loss by both routes for an average healthy young male averages about 25 milliliters per hour, or 200 milliliters per eight hours of sleep, and much of that is simply exhaled, not absorbed by the mattress.
Sleeping in a warm room. Once the temperature rises above 85(about 29 deg), you start sweating even if you're at rest. Tests conducted in the Sonoran Desert found that subjects sitting naked in the shade in 95-degree heat produced 220 milliliters of sweat per hour. Assuming comparable conditions were to prevail at night, you'd lose close to two liters over an eight-hour stretch. But then you wouldn't even be thinking about a new mattress — you'd be shopping for an air conditioner.

I soaked the swag in the bath for 24 hours, dried it all day, then repeated again, then soaked it with the hose and saw no leaks inside.
Interesting about the dew, yes I am sleeping direct under the stars.

It's not a really a problem during the warm months

I have recently returned from a solo camping trip to Trilby Station using my Oztrail Mitchell double. I unzip the foot end completely and the head end about half way for ventilation. The nights were very clear and the air was very cold. I had condensation on the outside and inside of the canvas most nights but sleeping bags (one inside the other) were dry as long as there was no contact with the canvas. I found this an issue on the mornings that I moved camp as I wanted the canvas dry before packing up. This said, swags are great and I loved waking up in the middle of the night, reaching up, unzipping the swag and throwing the canvas back to reveal beautiful starry nights complete with shooting stars.
