G'day folks, Powerful 4x4 have a pretty good deal going on until the end of the financial year, Basically a twin wheel carrier, rear work light, dual gerry can holder and reverse sensors at $1999.00.
Has anyone had one of these on their truck? I am looking for an honest opinion on their reliabilty and any ongoing issues if any. I know there are other brands out there but this seems a pretty good deal
cheers

A mate bought a powerful 4x4 rear bar and very disappointed. He says the quality of the steel is rubbish and bent at the slightest knock. His words not mine. I paid a little extra and bought one from

Very very happy and strong Aussie steel
'shakey'

I bought one in 2010 - at the price I could not go past it. I have dual wheel carriers on the bar.
The only issue I have had is the locking mechanism of the wheel - the D fitting keeps getting worn through and snapping. They have changed the design of the locking mechanism - on mine the D fitting is horizontal meaning the snap lock keeps pounding on it under corrugation. I now carry spares in case this happens on the track - it is easy to change. The last I saw this D fitting is vertical and I guess that will take this issue away.
So in summary you get what you pay for but I am happy with my decision given I paid half what Kaymar charged.

They have been cheaper Madcow. Generally there stuff takes a bit of effort to fit up. Personally at $2k I d spendma tad more and get another brand.

I've had mine on for 3yrs now. Dragged the 3+ton fat arse Landcruiser bum down palm creek entry, cape York. Paint scratched
. Jacked same fully loaded vehicle via rear bar to rotate tyres mid trip. On that trip the only casualty on the bar was some paint. Happy with that.
The last 2 years we've been touring full time for the most part and despite much abuse and thousands of corrugations, it still works just fine.
Casualties to date are:
Bearings in swing arms were not well protected so needed a clean up and the cap sealed with silicone.
1 wire keeper for the latch safety clip thingo broke. So I recrimped another eye onto it. No biggy.
Light bracket (alloy) cracked around base weld, retigged at a workshop for a sixpack.
Mine has the vertical catches so never broken one and in 3 years haven't put a spanner on it.
Happy? Yep.
p.s. I tossed reverse sensors in the bin. No idea why they're included, I guess they might be able to be incorporated into an existing system if your vehicle has them already.
