What things or foods have you come across that just isn't right. E.g I once had a mate that liked to put tomato sauce on his ice cream ???
As a kid I quite enjoyed peanut butter, cheese and BBQ sauce sandwiches. What the hell was I thinking? Should be no surprise that the young fella has strange taste too. Peanut butter with curry powder sandwich. Yuk!
We all drew the line at this however. We gave it a taste and promptly spat it back out. Will take some time (and scotch) for the tastebuds to recover :'(

I like vegimite on crumpets. I'd like to try the chocolate but would rather someone else buy the block and I just try some.

Went to China a few years ago and tried ordering by the pictures.
Looked like a chicken meal in the picture.
Was a chicken meal - THE WHOLE CHICKEN, in some sort of a stew, in pieces, including the feet comb and head!!!!
-
I've had it... Just tastes like salted caramel to me!

The China trip I went on was a teacher exchange, and the locals put in a huge effort to entertain their guests. We were taken out to dinner by the local school board, and had to be careful not to offend our hosts. They put on a spread including silk worms and grasshoppers which I managed to eat. Their real highlight were sea slugs. These things were repulsive, but had to be eaten to save face. I managed to get mine down but had to excuse myself as I thought I was going to throw up. On returning to the table I was dismayed to see that my fellow teacher sitting next to me had managed to swap plates while I was away, so to save face I had to eat another one.

My mum and dad were on business trips in China dating back to the 1960s and 70s.... On one trip they were guests of honour at a banquet and were arrempting to chow down on the various courses when mum found herself really struggling to choke down one particular course.....
Asked dad what the heck it this!!!!!!
BEAR'S PAW.... No way........
Then to prove the point.... the host said some words to the restaurant staff..... and next thing out comes the other huge paw..... on a platter packed in ice. ... big black claws and fur and all... OMG.... now THAT'S culture shock.......

Vegemite and potato chips on fresh crusty bread. Mmmmm
Also tastes great using salt and vinegar chips instead of plain.

Friend went to China about 10 yrs ago...up near Mongolia....went out for tea at a restaurant and out came 5 employees parading the "choice" food for the night.....DOGS.......big ones and small ones !!
He declined and had chicken ( suppose that wasn't guaranteed either ?? )

Someone gave me some of that Vegemite chocolate a couple of weeks ago. Tasting it propelled me back to grade 2 at primary school with Vegemite sandwiches wrapped in greaseproof paper slowly drying out in my Globite school bag ... I'm not going back there again.
I've done the chicken feet thing in China. The fried ones aren't so bad, it's the boiled ones served cold that I can't come at. Seeing their "finger prints" is a real turn off. Give the duck tongues a miss too.
I was once taken to an exotic species restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. I told the guys that there were a couple of rules, they had to order and they couldn't tell me what it was until after I had eaten it. Needless to say, I drank plenty of beer that night. I could have eaten a panda but I don't really remember all that much.

Chicken feet, bear paws, duck tongue OMG that is toe curling stuff. No thanks.
Horses for courses is suppose!

As a kid I lived on lettuce and tomato sauce sangas. It had to be the white crunchy stuff from around the core and not the green stuff.
-
Pineapple and cheese sangas !!
Pink Lady apple sangas !!
Still eat them now...

nothing wrong with an apple sanga mate, I used to eat them all the time.
Your pineapple and cheese sanga just needs ham added and then toasting...yum
Peanut paste, honey and jam used to go ok together also when I was a youngster
-
Mate of mine made a vegemite jam peanut butter honey and banana sandwich that he seemed to like.

Hi,
Keen's curry & chilli powder stirred into tomato soup.
Cheers

Chocolate doesn't last in out house but a block of the Vegemite one lasted at least a week. First few squares were like caramel but the rest were distintively Vegemite. Never again.

Forget about Chickens Feet in China as an earlier poster said..... How about at any Yum Cha joint in Sunnybank (BNE)..... YUK...
Or what about "Snake Alley" in Taipei (Tiawan)..... An infamous night area where you would walk along a long small street with hundreds of food stalls; many with a few tables and stools out the front. .
Each food stall or primative cafe would have cages of snakes stacked high - flanking your access inside..
Inside you would see some local (male) patrons selecting a live snake of their choice... where the staff then drag the thing from its cage - hang it from its tail on a bulldog clip suspended from the ceiling... then
Without much further-to-do.... and with one hand holding a small glass in the palm of her hand whilst holding the snake's head and also bending its neck and head back forming a V with some spare dexterous fingers - its throat is slit - and the employee then works her other hand up the snake's body...... squeezing it's blood into the glass....
Next the customer is seen tucking into a meal of noodles or whatever. .. this being washed down by a glass of warm snake's blood.....
