Caught up with an old army mate yesterday and he has a new project, He has an old Inter AB-130 4X4 V8 auto panel van type..
Beleived they had been used by either forrestry or the water commission but not sure.. Would appreciate any info on locations of spares wrecks ...... Photo's to share, uncles, dads, grandads memories of these types of trucks and who they might have been used by ..
He's not real computer literate so stick drawings and hiroglyphics and a lump of 4x2 up the side of the head usualy gets messages across ..
Thanks in advance guys ..
His is similar to this ol girl in the pic I found ..

Wow that's a name I haven't heard off in a long time . My folks had an "inter" as they were affectionately called a AB110 2 wheel drive pickup. Had an Aussie made straight six iirc the 4x4 would be quite rare and I would imagine the drive system would be taken from something else at the time. international really made bigger trucks. Your aware the bodies where made by dodge ?
The great thing about them in the day , besides them being unbreakable (sorry toyota ) was that there was an international harvester dealer in every town going around being farm equipment suppliers.
Maybe if your mate can get some photos of the front drive and transfer somebody might recongnise it?

I had an AB 120 flat top 2WD , I miss that truck so much ...
I also had but never got on the road an AA110 4WD , that had a broken swivel hub when I found her , I removed the beam axle from the 120 , put it in the 110 just to bring her home some 40 or 50 km then had to swap it all back .
Good luck too your mate . Country Vic seems to be home too alot of the old Inter and dodge stuff and also the darling downs in QLD ..
cheers

Lots were used by the rural fire service in nsw, probably all over aus though, but yeah there is heaps of pics of them on the NSW RFS Heritage face book page. Some research through there may reveal some spares etc.

Have a ring around the Hot Rod shops in Castlemaine Vic area as they might have the scope on spares . Rare Spares in Melb could be another way to go . Hope that helps

The 4x4 should have Dana diffs , so fairly straightforward.
Rare spares will have maybe 6 parts listed ........next to useless except for ford and Holden - I know this as I have both and a valiant .......

I know a lot of parts are still available for these through your local Iveco dealer, just need to find the right bloke willing to help you out......
We used to be a dealer back years before I started at work, we may even still have a parts book, I'd be happy to have a look next week when I'm back at work if your interested ?
