Ok so we have had our GIC camper for I think two years we love it roomy easy to tow love the set up BUT the bloody annex and its million poles arghhh we have used our camper only about 4 times and every time we go away the annex is atleast an hour job ! GIC instructions are a joke to say the least so me and hubby and a few beers are going to attempt to set up in our yard and come up with a way to fast track set up or mark poles ect anyone else face this problem or have any ideas :) cheers guys

Buy a few rolls of different colored electrical tape & clear heat shrink.
Set it all up, make sure it's great, then mark the pole joins with different colored tape.
Once done, clear heat shrink stops them comming off.

What size tent on your GIC, 12ft or 18ft and when you set up the annexe do you do the walls as well.
Up until recently we had a GIC with the 12ft tent and never used the annexe walls, only the roof. The poles we used were-
4 that come out horizontally and at right angle from the main tent with a vertical pole for each
If it rained we would use the pole that had the 'C' plastic clips at each end and run it parallel to the main tent to stop water pooling on the annexe roof. If you need extras just slip another regular pole between the canvas and fixed poles to help water run off.
This cut down on the amount of poles we took away and saved weight.

I must be short changed as my tent has a lot fewer than a million poles....LOL,

can you just set up with out the roof ridge poles, our aussie swag doesnt need them just 4 or 5 maybe upright poles and use the tension to create the ridges.

my Trackabout doesn't even have ridge poles. Just the 6 poles and up it is. More drinking time
