Read it yesterday and the one thing which they are also not mentioning is to get a famed and useless ANCAP 5 Star rating the chassis also have built into them, weak points to allow the crumble zone when in an accident.
So to make your workhorse safer it is made weaker.
Just my thoughts anyhow.

It seems that most instances are utes with leaf springs. Any instances anyone knows of the GU/GQ utes with coil towers bending chassis's? Already know of the cracking towers. I am planning on a GU ute as my next tug (with coils) and would like to minimise my chances of this happening.

Not unheard of. Google search "GU ute cracked chassis". There is one or two topics.

the article mentions that Ron Moon's own Patrol wagon with coils cracked the chassis prior to it being cut n stretched into a dual cab ute
