END OF AN ERA!
Taken from translation of the Kazakhstan Press.
Mitsubishi Motors in Japan today announced that the anticipated merger with the Nissan Motor Company will take effect as from the first day of April 2016.
Mitsubishi passenger car products will remain as an independent entity and there would be no model changes, Nissan CEO of passenger vehicles Mr Kanhi TakaShitah stated during a press conference in Fukuoka this morning.
The president of commercial vehicles Mr Ishuru Wong went on to say although the Pajero, (also known as the Montero in some markets) the Triton (L200) and the Challenger (Pajero Sports) would continue in name the actual vehicle would be replaced with models already produced by Nissan.
The Nissan Patrol would be rebadged as the Pajero, the Navara as the Triton and the XTrail as the Chalenger.
The merger has been hailed as a responsible move by both economists and environmentalists alike. It has been stated that the fundamental reason behind the merger is due to Mitsubishi Motors producing light commercial vehicle of such a high quality and standard that many owners are unable to justify updating their vehicle in the usual 5 year of ownership. This has lead to a critical over supply of new vehicles and as such yearly profits have plummeted.
In his address Mr Wong went on to say to differentiate between the standard Nissan vehicles and the rebadged versions the Pajero, Triton and Chalenger (all of which would be produced in the Republic of Kazakhstan) would only be available in the colour of white and all models would have a common engine being the 2.4ltr 102kw 4cyl petrol coupled to a 4speed automatic transmission.

If it were true, they would be a force to be reckoned with. I can see 10 year and 500,000km warranties

Really i can see an underpowered 3ltr engine that will still go boom combined with a chassis that will go snap when you put more than a piece of paper in the rear tub
