Title: New electrical/ solar kit seen.
Post by: carinya on March 31, 2015, 09:09:11 PM
Maybe this needs to be in the electrical section.  I didn't want to open the page.
Hi folks, I don't know if anyone has seen this kit before.  I spoke to the demonstrator at the local show on the weekend about it.
Looks like a handy piece of gear if you don't already have many accessories.  They also have lithium  12v batteries to replace the
deep cycle types we use in the camper.  Quoted as being able to run a 60l fridge, pump and all lights on the CT for 12 days on one charge.  Only problem is they want $1700 for it.  Similar for the solar kit I think.

It's got a 48Ah LiPo.  No way that will run a 60L fridge for 12days on one charge, LiPo or not.  You'd maybe get 1-2 days at the most.

The web site actually says that "The CL-2000 power to go System boasts a 48 Amp Lithium ion polymer Battery which has the ability to equal any 100 Amp AGM deep cycle battery "

Note that it says 48 Amp and not 48Ah.

Maybe they don't know the difference.

They ppear to be inicating that a Lipo can b drawn down 100% whereas a lead acid at best 50%
Which is kind of correct

Might last 12 days with solar going in 10 deg weather
