Title: Open Slather For Drug Cheats Now
Post by: xcvator on March 31, 2015, 01:14:56 PM
Why aren't I surprised that the Essendon drug club has been found not guilty. Helluva precedent to set, and what a great example for our kids  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Totally agree - What a waste of time....

They are guilty in most sports peoples eyes, and dodged a major bullet.

The AFL have tried to sweep this under the carpet, and hope that it goes away.

Collingwood are going to cop it now....

Can I just say anyone who is even 1% surprised give yourself an uppercut.

With days to the start of season, did you think anything else would happen??
Apart from isn't this just the AFL finding the AFL team not guilty?

2 more years of appeals and bullShit and court cases...

Just another victorian based regime inconsistency

Let's talk about the Melbourne fine for tanking....
A penalty that cost Dean Bailey his last year in footy, yet the AFL then bailed out Melbourne the year after> Yep, that's fair.

Drug cheats? All good, yep, sounds legit

Do what you want, just make sure you hide the evidence and don't record anything.

Got news for you, drug cheating isn't just confined to VIC, seem to remember a few of the NRL boys getting a laughable three weeks for a similar thing. What the Bomber did was wrong and they should have been penalized, but asarda need a good kick in the crotch for the BS that they have put us thru in the last two and a half years

No matter what the code, people need to be mindful that these individuals are are being paid a ridiculous amount of money to be professional sportsmen, idol to many young people who seemingly have a code of conduct that accepts any type of behaviour as long as they have an excuse! When these "professionals" break the law, they get as much justice as they can afford! Compare punishments handed out to ordinary people for similar offences and you will see the disparity.

Let's not jump the gun too much, it's only players that have been found not guilty isn't it ?
Isn't the club facing other charges ?

Does it matter ? They are alledgedly adult people, yet they allowed themselves to be injected with "something". They are all drug cheats from the top to the bottom

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I don't think the club is gunna get off like the players have.
Your right each one of the players should of said "your not putting that in me" every time they wanted to inject.

Bigger joke is what is going on in the NRL and QRU at the moment.

Karmichael Hunt gets done for cocaine use and gets a slap on the wrist from The courts, 3weeks (2games) and $10k from the QRU.  When Sailor got done it was 2Yrs which ended his rugby career.  Guess he is worth more to the QRU.  Additionally a bit of a conflict that the guy that threw everything at him to get him to come to rugby is involved in deciding his punishment.

Then you've got the rest of them in the NRL where legally they're too scared to suspend them while it plays out in the courts, more slaps on the wrist I'm expecting.

One minor difference Wendell failed a drug test. Karmichael hasn't

+1.  wendall failed an in-season, competition-sanctioned drug test, which puts him under the charge of the WADA rules, hence the 2 year suspension...
