Post by: Cooks on March 22, 2015, 03:10:11 PM

  Hello all!

I've just joined as I plan to build my own camper and hope to soak up a bit of knowledge from the My Swag brains trust. Hopefully I can offer some useful info in return.

Hello Cooks thanks for joining and what's your background? Keen to hear and see what u plan on building.  Too many 'boring' people like me on here who just buy trailers.  Making your own sounds good if u have time, know how, and facilities.

GG

It will be a modified king size rooftop tent sitting on Monopan or alloy boxes which in turn will sit on an ex-army Cooks trailer chassis.
The goal is to make a go anywhere, aerodynamic, light weight remote access camper that will be home for myself, my partner and our young boy for a year as we live the big lap dream. Fingers crossed!

Hi Nigel. Thanks for the welcome.

I work for myself somehow making a living from doing anything from changing lightbulbs to designing interiors and doing renovations. In my own time I'm a habitual tinkerer who's always designing or modifying furniture and all sorts of gadgets.
