Title: Anybody attend an "operation slipper parade" today?
Post by: achjimmy on March 21, 2015, 07:19:15 PM
I didn't even hear about this until midday  :-[ did anybody go in there respective states?  It's good to see them make an effort to honor these servicemen. I think in years to come we will realise this was a much bigger thing that what it seems and the returned guys need a big thankyou and the support of the nation.

Sure did,

Very hot during the March up here in Darwin.

Army put on a good display with their choppers, (tigers, chinooks, and MRH -90's) along with the RAAF's Orion, a extremely important tool utilised in the Middle East for Op Slipper.

Cheers, Chris

Wasn't really advertised well IMO.

End of an era for the ADF.

That's because it was organised by the ADF and the ADF don't do media stuff all that well.  Bit of a shame really as it should have been better supported by the public, just most didn't know about it.

100 years post Gallipoli this year.

Let's hope they fire up the PR machine for that one.

I didn't even know it was on?

I live in a garrison town and heard nothing...what a shame.
