Title: Brockys 70th Birthday.
Post by: Mace on February 26, 2015, 02:57:01 PM
Would have been today.

A natural talent, a flawed diamond, met the man several times, he allways had time for the kids, even those with daughters.

Might have to go out to the shed and rub my ' Brocky' for luck .

He was a one of a kind and I doubt we will ever see his ability ,drive and sheer bloody minded - ness again , met him many times and he had " IT "

Are you forgetting Captain Risky?

He'd drive rings around Brocky all week and twice on Sundays.....

Yep - A top bloke.

I have a Brock signed umbrella in my golf bag. It says "Live life to the fullest"

I reckon thats a pretty good mantra to live by.

Met him at a Clipsal 500, and there weren't many people there at the time. He was happy to spend some time and just chat...

Still rue the day I passed up on buying his old 1973 Bathurst HDT LJ GTR-XU1 back in the '70s for ...wait for it....  $3,500
It was still in the exact same spec as Harry Firth built it too

Absolute legend, I never meet him but grew watching his feats at Bathurst mainly, and boy could he drive, backed by the best too.

Here's to a legend.....
