Title: Ants

Hey folks...I have a camper trailer and also a 3 dog tray back camper for the times I tow the boat...I don't use them that often but when I use either there always seems to be ants in them everywhere...Anyone happen to know a solution to this or is it a common thing??

Open them up, (the trailers that is ) and give them a light spray all over with an insect surface spray, just don't get it too close to any canvas as it will stain if sprayed directly on  8)

Hi,
   and put some talcum powder around the tyres and jockey wheel when parked.
Ants usually won't cross through it.

Yeah, its too slippery for them to walk on it. Grab a magnifying glass and watch 'em.... hours of fun. (Alcohol helps too)

Ant rid in the trailer and Crawley Cruncher for around the trailer.

Had our camper set up for a week unsupervised recently after some heavy rain. When I got back to pack it up I noticed a few ants around the trailer so decided I'd clean it out when it got home. Just as well because in that week thousands of the little sods had set up home between the spare canvas in the tub.

If they get in, clean em out quick. It never occurred to me to keep an eye on them while the triller is in the yard.

We camped for a week at Forster
Every rolled up window cover was full of thousands and thousands of black ants
When I finally killed most I found the rear section between the outside shell and inside of the floor was completely full of blackants, where do they all come from?
I sprayed the inside of the void with a full can of surface spray and re fitted the tail lights
Hopefully I have eliminated them.

Thanks for the reply's,seems I'm not the only one...With the ute back camper I was thinking of putting the four legs in buckets with a little oil in the bottom of them and see if that works...With the trailer I guess it will be a combo of suggestions from here and see what works...

Try applying an hefty smear of Vaseline around each leg. Not saying that it'll work but I use it around the tell tale & flush inlet on the outboard & it keeps the dreaded mud wasps & the like away.
