looking for some advice in regards to WeberQs. We have enough FlyBuy points that I can get a WeberQ100 now or wait a little while to get the Q200. Is it worth the wait and get the 200? ???
I have a BBQ at home so would probably only get used when we go on trip with the CT so obviously storage etc comes into it. I suppose the real question I have is "Is the 200 that much better or just larger (which obviously comes with benefits of amount of meat etc)?"
Hope the gurus on here can help me out
Thanks
Rod

IMHO, the 100 is big enough to do the meat for 4 people at once, anything else at the same time it's too small (my kids eat same as adults now) full on breakfast for 4 all at once it's too small but just for say bacon and eggs it's fine.

The 100 will cope with a family and some no worries. If traveling is it's main job get the 100 along with the duffel bag.

x3 100

X2
We were able to do a small roast and a few veggies around the sides in our 100, but it was only just enough for 2 adults and 3 small kids. But the kids (12, 10 and 6) are now.eating more, so we struggle to do more than the meat. If you do go the 100, get the high lid version. It is only 1-2 cm higher but I think it would make a big difference at being able to fit a few more veggies around the edges (we have the standard lid and I regret not getting the high lid).

We have both and somehow the 200 seems to get way hotter than the 100.
I reckon grab the 100 for camping.

I've read on here of a few people ordering the high lid (lid only) from Weber direct for $120ish delivered to replace their standard lid. The bigger lid does com in handy with roasts, I also use the Q200 trivet (in a 100) for extra veggie room.

Great idea on ordering the high lid replacement, I hadn't thought of that.

Except that the price difference between the 100 (low lid) and 120 (high lid AND thermometer, was only $20 last time I compared.
We have a 320 at home. And a 120 in the camper. In answer to the opening post, I'd go 120.

Family of 5 and we manage with the 100. I looked at the 200 but couldn't make it fit in our box otherwise Id probably would have gotten one. There on special on the Qantas website ATM if you have enough QFF points.

A tip for a bacon and eggs for many using 1 Baby Q.
We have 2 portable gas cookers as well. Using our pan and my mates pan cooking on the portables, all the bacon, place in aluminum tray and keep it warm in the webber. Then cook all the eggs. Everyone gets to eat a hot breakfast at the same time. We have comfortably fed upto 8 people this way.
We also use pans with glass lids to fry potatos, carrots and pumpkin if no room in the webber, takes about 1 hour to get the roast consistency on low heat.

If you are travelling with it or using for picnics etc get the 100.
We ended up with 100 for camping and a 300 for home

Another vote for the 120 for travelling. We borrowed a mates 220 on trip prior to our purchase and it took a lot more space up than the 120. If possible get the 120 model over the 100. As mentioned above the extra lid height and thermometer is really worth it. Other options I'd recommend - The duffle bag with the 120 is really durable, trivet & Breakfast plate (half size solid hotplate)
We use the 120 at home for general BBQ's, weber kettle (heat beat) for roasts and when we need to cook up more.

Another vote for the 120 in camper I also have the 320 at home. The 120 is big enough for 4+ people
I have a small cast iron frying pan to cook eggs still enough room for bacon..
pizza,bbq..For roasts 2/2.5 kg meat and stack the veg on top off each other have cooked for 7 people this way.
I am now cooking for 9 people on the 320 4.5kg pork and all the veg stacked up.
We also do lasagna, cake, apple pies, what ever you cook at home...
Load it up it will cook it(may take a little longer) just keep the tenp at 200 they work great
Cheers

another vote for the 120 we have the 320 at home and for camping the 120 is brilliant. 220 if you have a heap of room and a lot of mouths all the time. we are 3 and the 100 is plenty, we just manage when cooking for more (had up to 6 previously).

Thanks all :cup:. I will see if the offer incorporates the 120 (Q1200AU according to the Webber website).
