As this year draws to a close its time to reflect. With all the bad stuff happening late in the year I thought its time to share the personal achievements and successes that made you fist pump (either in your head or in public). Could be anything from retiring to winning the lotto, buying a Navara or selling a Jeep!
I had a couple this year I'd like to share.
1 got my C6 crane license (paid for by work)
2 got tickets to the cricket world cup
So share away! We won't ridicule (much...!) ;D
-
1. Got a new Hilux (Actually SWMBO did!)
2. Did 15 years of service at work
3. Don't have any debt left!
-
Got my first CT 8)
-
2014 has been pretty good to us:
- Picked up the new LC200 in March
- Picked up the new caravan in June
- Went on the MySwag Red Centre Trip
- Achieved some cycling personal goals that had been on my list for ages
- And most importantly all the family are all healthy!
-
Gave up work & set off on a year long camping around Australia adventure. Best thing we ever did. Still get to enjoy it for a quarter of 2015 as well. :cup:
-
These are mine (may or may not be in the order of excitement ;D)
1. WON a trip with Daryl Beattie on a new Honda CRF450 fro Cairns to the Tip of Cape York (Sept 14) worth about $7k
2. Wife gave birth to the most amazing little girl  ever born (March 14) :D :D :D
3. Introduced the boys to riding motorbikes, and they loved it.
4. Payed off our 1st house and became debt free
5. Bought 9 acres of land for our new house, and went back into debt... :'(
2014 has been good to us, I hope 2015 will be just as good, if not better... We could start it by winning the $30,000,000 XLotto tonight... ;D
-
1. Bought our own slice of land in the bush.
2. Knowing we did our homework well on location of that land.
3. Reaping tax free rewards from your own land.

For me it was overtaking my first road train in the NT.
Hubby was very quiet as I did this.
Pretty boring, but to me whilst towing CT I was stoked.

No order at all, but.
. The wife getting a 2nd all clear for the cancer they cut out
. Finding work to go back to after 18 months away
. The wife still haveing an all clear, considering she did it properly by getting the most aggressive form of the cancer type.
. Still somehow keeping a roof over our heads.
. Somehow managing to have a few fun trips away for the munckins to really enjoy, even though the wife had chemo at the time for some of them.
. Managing to keep something close to a sense of humour through it all. ;D
Next year, it will only get better...

Thank you folks.
I didn't intend to hijack this thread by the way, there are a lot of folk who are doing it real tuff, so it aint all about me.
Another good moment is that my 5 year old son (almost 6) is happy in the pool now. His twin sister has been swimming for her 3rd summer now.

For me:
July, my FIL and I built a kick arse car port for the Jayco with a substantial retaining wall section and paved floor. Now I'm useless on the tools so it was a big achievement for me to build half of the wall section all by myself.
September, upgraded my car to a Kluger in preparation for the growing family. Unfortunatley that meant I now have to drive the wife's Kia around now :-(
December, we welcomed our son Archie on the 5th of December weighing 6lbs 6. He was a few weeks early but was very healthy. Unfortunately we spent his first Christmas back at hospital after he picked up a UTI that quickly spread to his blood. Spent 5 days in hospital on high strength antibiotics. Back home now and back to a happy baby.

Been thinking for the last few hours about the good things from the last year.............
Hasn't been a great year for me health wise and that has impacted on our life this least year, but reading some of the things others are going through it helps to know we not doing too bad.
About the only highlights for me would be seeing my son starting to talk and becoming a real little boy that's healthy and in everything.
Only other thing is selling our old camper so quickly so we can get into the new camper that's easier to handle so we can get back to out there again and back camping and travelling.
Let's hope everyone has a better year than last.
Happy new year everyone

Paying off the Dmax means more to go towards paying off the house :cup:
Having lino6 and his mate build me a garden type shed to put all my horse gear in makes doing stuff with the horses easier it was crap to build and the fist pump moment should go to them but I am very happy to be using it.
Looking at plans to hopefully knock this house over and build a new one.

For the first time in about 10 trips we packed up dry. In fact for all 6 nights no rain. Was great to have a dry camper when we got home

Went camping and water skiing at Xmas and cleared the wake 3 times in a row wake boarding!
Great feeling when your learning to jump on the wake board.
