Title: Newbie Camper Trailer User Dumb Question #1 - Wet Pack-Up
Post by: Cage on December 07, 2014, 05:30:35 PM
I'll make this quick. I'm just about to be hammered by a nasty storm.

Current scenario, pack-up with wet tent, Camel with real canvas, wet, have to move, what to do to protect my bedding.

Chuck the bedding, pillow etc in the back of the ute, and put the plastic cover on the mattress?

Sheesh, I gotta go, it's hammering down here, thunder and a light show too.

Any other suggestions appreciated.

Cage
1st Don't go camping in the rain as things get wet
2nd Get a large sheet of plastic to cover the mattress & bedding
3rd Set up to dry as soon as possible & leave it set till its dry
4th Most importantly get used to it as it happens
                                                                              Enjoy

Cheers Spewa,

Interesting nic   ;D

OK:

#1:  Bit hard to organise if you are many ooo's of K's from home
#2, #3, and #4 ..... All valid suggestions

Was wondering if anyone had come across a largish waterproof mattress protector that would cover all the bedding and negate the need to chuck stuff in the back of the ute.

We just use a silver tarp from Super Cheap.  Goes over bedding and mattress

Saw a bloke once put a blue tarp over the camper then packed it away from under the tarp - didn't get too wet doing that - looked stupid but hey it worked ...

we 99% of the time have a tarp over the whole setup but after reading this post we are looking into something in the link attached for emergencies.

We have a canvas bed bag. When we stop for a few days it's like an extra blanket. When traveling its on the bed. Keeps it all dry
