Title: Shave for a cure 2015 ... DONE AND DUSTED!!!
Post by: Chippy76 on December 04, 2014, 08:48:45 PM
Hello Swaggers!

Well my lovely wife has decided that in 2015 she will participate in the Leukaemia foundations "shave for a cure".
Very basically our primary goal is to raise $2000 for the charity. This means my 7 year old will colour his hair, my 10 yer old with shave his hair, my 15 year old will wax his legs, and my beautiful wife will shave her locks and donate her hair to Pantenes Beautiful Lengths project which provides wigs to children and women who have lost their hair as a result of chemo.

As an added incentive ... if we reach $6000 dollars, I will undergo a FULL body wax! (was I drunk when I agreed to this ??? )

The attached file contains all the information required to get involved and help us out. We need more "big ticket" items and donations for our raffle, and monetary sponsorship is always welcomed!

If you are a business, LARGE OR SMALL and can help out in ANY way. Please contact us on the contacts listed. I have seen the generosity of the Myswag crew before and I know I wont be let down !

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers Chippy :D

Good luck with it.  I did it last year and raised about $1700 I think. It was very liberating shaving my head. I have since kept it very short via I love it

Hey Swaggers .... So the day finally came yesterday, and the shave was on! ... The grand total of fundraising as of yesterday stood somewhere around $3200. A little short of the $6000 target for me to get fully waxed (PHEW!), but over the $3000 for me to shave my head. And well over my wifes target of $2000. Lisa (my wife) shaved and donated her ponytail to Pantene beautiful lengths campaign to make wigs for those with cancer. I am so proud of how incredibly brave she has been to have her head shaved. She was also joined by a family friend aged 13 who shaved her head. My boys joined in too, with Angus (7yo) shaving and colouring (purple) Zane (10yo) shaving and colouring (blue) and Jack (15 yo) waxing his legs ... apparently we couldn't touch his hair! lol

Thanks to those who got involved, and donated or purchased raffle tickets.
I look fwd to seeing you all it Rainbow beach.

Cheers (a very bald)  Chippy :D

Good onya's top stuff!!

Did it myself when i lived out in Charters Towers, went into every shop in town and asked for a donation......... can't remember how much i collected now, but it was pretty substantial compared to what the other fellas raised........ got a ribbing from all that possibly my tact and demeanour when "asking" for donations might have been a bit overwhelming for some, some said i may have missed my calling in life as a debt collector, i say it's not my fault that some people are intimidated by ugly tattooed big fat blokes....... hehehe..... Oh and the mine we were working at matched what all us fellas raised and threw that in too,,,,,,,, looked pretty funny in the days following when we were all on the bus heading out to work, 20 or 30 blokes all with shiny new bald heads (rough heads too).......... few weven lost the eyebrows as well, yep there was  involved at the time of the shave event. ;D
