Title: camping near nanango
Post by: me217 on October 26, 2014, 11:49:09 PM
Hey all. Looking for a nice place to camp over night close to nanango for next weekend. Somewhere I can get my camper trailer in. But also somewhere nice. I found the koombinbi falls. I don't think I spelt that right. But there not overly close. Also at this moment we need to be somewhere with public toilet as we haven't made that purchase yet.

Can you get to Kingaroy? There is a Big 4 Caravan Park there, drove past it today.

Or to Kilcoy, the dam there has a caravan park as well.

It will give you the chance to go for a good drive with the trailer to see how it goes, fuel consumption, ect..... if you haven't already.

Have towed the trailer with the zook and she loves the drink when she's working and also done a short trip with it behind the crdi i30 and in all honesty it towed better behind that. And still got 7l/100km. Unfortunately it can't go Bush. Plus I'd rather put the wear and tear on the 4wd. the main reason we're going to nanango is for the go karts. But also want to give the camper another run.

We were at those falls last weekend. Very dry, no running water. Not a great deal of shade. Toilet block was ok. The is a caravan park at goomari from memory

Go to IzuzuMu's place, they'll be in Tin Can for the week-end.

There are 2 caravan parks in Nanango.  Or if you like you can free camp at the park (there are toilets).  Both caravan parks are within 1km of the kart track.  There is one in town and one just out of town.

Maybe have a look around the Yarraman area if it's not to far away for you, there's a few campgrounds around there. There's also a free camp spot at Cooyar that isn't too bad, public toilets a short walk away across from the pub

I see the loos have moved..........stopped to have a crap a month or so ago and  drove straight past where the old loos were thinking it was closer to the free camp....did a u-turn and the old loos were flattern. They are now in the main park in town.

There is a free camp at Maidenwell which is next door to the pub :cup:  There is also an Observatory at the camp and only a short distance to Maidenwell Falls.  Its about 28k south of Nanango.
