Just a heads up the new series kicks off today. I think the lads are with channel 10 now too. Saw Jase at the Adelaide 4wd Show yesterday, showing some footage of the upcoming shows. Looks like it will be worth watching.
-
Yes they are, went looking for it and couldn't find it until I went back to the main channels.
-
All 4 Adventure, Oct 26 Channel 10, 12pm, followed by Rick O'Briens new show Offroad Adventure at 1pm. ;D ;D
"Whats that dear, the lawn needs mowing, well I cant do it in the middle of the day as its too hot. Yes you have fun in the shops, bye" >:D
-
the trailer video on their website makes it look like they are stepping up the yobbo factor as much as they can now sadly. i don't mind the show for the most part, but the way they advertise it on their website leaves a bit do be desired IMHO.
-
Hope they've got a bit more sense than they were showing in the last series. ??? Doing some pretty stupid and dangerous stuff at times apart from the yobbo occer speech that vanished in the adverts :-[
The original series was better by far :cup:

We only have one hour of fun here in Adelaide. After A4A, we have a show called "Love Your Sister" ???
-
They couldn't have gotten a worse TV channel though, bloody channel 10 works for about 30 sec then freezes for 20. Haven't had 2 mins without it freezing. Digital TV is crap

They are still the same but showcasing the Kimberleys and some pretty amazing country. Not being boaties but if they were as dubious as they say surely they should have at least put a vest on to go back out the Horizontal Waterfall. Just would have set a better example anyhow.

X 2' nice way to spend an hour!
Cheers,
Disco teddy.

Enjoyed the show, but a little too much fishing and not enough of the scenery. We will be doing a cruise there next year, from Derby to Darwin, and I was looking forward to this show. (Have done the Horizontal Falls on another trip!) Maybe I was hoping for a bit of Malcolm Douglas type of show I suppose. But still good entertainment. Now watching the ‘Love Your Sister’ show and that is just a real tear jerker. We were lucky to meet him at Carnarvon WA last year. Wow, what a guy. Kevin

Oopps. Yeah as Mr McGirr said, starts this Sunday. Sorry to all those who, like me, were settled in for two hours of the right stuff but only got one, I hope you will forgive my slipped up eagerness  but at least you all now know about the new show ;D
 avo

Digital TV is great, but you do need a good digital ready antenna and good coaxial cabling system. Depending on how old your gear is you may need to invest some dollars on some upgrades.

Did anyone happen to record the show today. Forgot to set the recorder.

Or you could live in a backwards state with no daylight savings and 3 hours behind, but it does have it's advantages..............it's on now over here!
-
Or go to Tenplay and watch it there

yeah i did and then watched it just before, but i've got no idea how to record off the HDD onto something else for you
got to say, i've really enjoyed the last 2 shows that have been on.....plenty of 4wd'ing and just a touch of fishing for a change, rather then the other way around.

x2. And I appreciated the respect the boys showed to the traditional owners and their spirituality.
-
Best show on the tele, so if you do not like it you probably need to change your nappy :D ;D google Jason Andrews and see what he has had to do to put this show together.

i had a pretty big hernia in the same location about 8 years back, and still managed to work in the building industry doing house construction for many months until the public hospital system could get around to fixing me up. Sometimes it was pretty painful, but other times it was no pain at all...which seems to be similar to how Jas was being on the show. The big issue is if it becomes a strangled hernia, which wouldn't have been good for him if that happened where he was. I did think the same thing thing watching him reel in those fish though, he didn't seem to be in any pain at all in that scene

Looked pretty good for a while.....until the ads came on...can't escape them anywhere !!
How do you tell what sort of data this sort of show uses ??
-
I'd estimate 300 - 800mb per show

Not good for your data plan if you start doing it regularly !!
-
I guess that depends on your data plan. I'd have thought most people would have 50 - 200 gb

I have 25Gb.
I would have thought most people would have between 25 and 100 tops....
I pay $66 for 25Gb with phone line rental.....
To go to 100Gb it goes up to $93 !!

Just watched the last 4 episodes, the show has come a long way since the Jase and Rodo days. They're still bogans but I am enjoying the scenery. You have to admire their sense of adventure.

Yeah i love it but the safety manager in me shakes his head gotta love Simon on the chainsaw No shirt no safety glasses or even sunnies and a pair of double pluggas
-
Where will they go next? They have done most of northern Australia.
-
There's always more to explore! It's unbelievable what they have covered though!

Coming from a civil background.. I thought the same thing, I was waiting for him to put at least sunnies and ear muffs on.. ;D

-

Yep just watched the last few ep's and I am quite liking the show, there is so many stories to be told of past events in the bush, quite interesting watching 3.5 tonnes of boat get dragged thru rough country.....I guess my 1000kg of camper behind the 200 is not so bad!
-
Great show love it, even have one of their sleeveless fishing shirts, have been wearing these for forty years especially when it bloody hot. Talk about hot, I see these poor people wearing long pants and shirts two ton of safety gear out in 40oC working, think that is more a health risk than any thing else.
-

Have a mate who recently had an accident after 25 years of using chainsaw. Had sunnies on but hey did nothing, should have worn a helmet. Never was a good looker.
Loving the show again this year. Old Simon was looking a bit worried a few weeks back with the water coming into the cab and broke the first winch cable ;D
How about our indigenous mates. What do you reckon of that, yeah.......... yeah........... :D
-
Watched the last episode of the current series last night, I am a convert. I usually don't watch the show as it was low quality/value and high w@nker factor. If you take the OH&S issues out of it, they are pretty out there as far as pushing the limits of adventuring. Of all the 4wd/adventuring shows currently available they're going further off the beaten track than anybody else. The production quality and information has also really lifted this series, I like the drone shots. I am looking forward to the next series.
-
I really enjoyed this series. I agree with D4D the production quality has lifted in recent series.
I like the ventures out to historic sites, like Little Eva in the last one. There are likely lots of stories about our country like this, that have never been told before and that just adds to the show for me.
-
Yeah, i enjoyed the little Eva story as well.
After the show, I sat and googled it to read the complete history
