Hi everyone, hubby and I have been looking at getting a walk thru camper...our budget started about 7k to buy second hand, but has now changed to around the 10k mark. We have found a couple models, where the trailer is aussie made, an the canvas is from overseas. They are new and vary between 9 and10. They only give a 1yearwarranty on the canvas though.
I would prefer to buy 2nd hand and buy something that is already set up, for the money side of it but hubby is keen to buy new. What are people's thoughts on buying canvas from overseas?? I have only been able to find 1 walk thru camper for sale under 10,000. I have looked here, caravan/camp sales, trading post, gumtree. Anybody have any other suggestions where to look?
Also, tips would be appreciated, pro's cons over buying 2nd hand over new etc?
Thanks everybody in advance
Julie....

$10450, talk them down $500 and you've got a brand new walk through for under 10k.

why does it have to be a walk through?

I'd be looking for a good Aussie 2nd hand trailer.
If you buy a new import just remember that once you used it, it becomes a used import trailer. When you go to sell, will buyers want a used import or a used Aussie built.

When we bought our camper we wanted a walk through style as well. Our budget was sitting at $10-$12K
We were happy to buy a good quality Australian used camper also but what we found (2 years ago) was that even used they were way out of our budget. All the 2nd hand campers were still sitting at $18K minimum and going upto $30K. We have felt your fustration - You are not alone!
With the entrance of the cheaper walkup models, I have seen the 2nd hand Australian market come down slightly but there still isnt alot available in the $10K market.
We have a lifestyle walkthru, which is their import camper. If you have any questions I am happy to answer them.
Goodluck on your camper search.

We would like walk thru for convenience, hubby gets up at night to go to the loo. And they are easier getting in an out of.
We have been looking at the lifestyle one. The trailer is aussie made and the canvas ins imported.
Lori, would defi Italy like to here how your trailer is going? Did you get the gen II?

We have a walkthru delux gen 2. It's awesome. We optioned it up to basically Extenda spec with the imported tent. It has served us flawlessly the last 12 months and has gone everywhere without a hitch. Actually looking at selling if your interested?

Whether its an import or Aussie made as long as you find the one that's suits your budget with the features you want is the main thing.
Good luck in your search.
