Title: Freight train vs 4wd in Katherine NT
Post by: Stozz on October 12, 2014, 12:27:47 PM
Unfortunate and expensive decision to cross the rail line that ended in tears with a new 4wd dragged by train for 1.5km. No-one hurt, luckily.

The driver's bloody lucky he didn't get a Darwin Award for that.  Mind you, there is evidence that the human race could benefit had he.

And who buys a brand new vehicle and doesn't insure it?

And, and, had he insured it, I'd bet there would be more get out clauses than you could shake a stick at, given what happened.

Couple of new panels and bit of paint and it'd be like you again.

You'd do the lot for a couple of hundred bucks.

I think they mean new to him. Looks like 2000ish SR5 Hilux.

That aside 3rd party property insurance should be compulsory.

You know there is two 4wd's in the pic.

The bit pointing back to the camera looks like a Jeep and I should know....................... It's a Jeep thing.

I'll bet he wishes he had when he gets the bill for the repairs to the train and the track.
