Title: Another computer problem !!

I have just downloaded internet explorer 11 ( or 12? ) and now I can't get the laptop to go on the web.......whether it's on chrome, explorer or firefox......just thinks and then says webpage unavailable ??

What have I done ???

I knew I shouldn't have touched it......

Thanks if someone can work out what I've done..

Find out what version you installed -
Click HELP and ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER

We have found here that 11 resets all previous settings on *SOME* windows 7 machines.

Edit: you can roll back the installation if your using Windows 7
Goto Control panel -> Programs and Features -> on left Turn Windows Features On or Off
opens new window.
wait for it to fully populate
you will see Internet Explorer 10 or 11

Untick it and it will uninstall on next reboot.

It sort of fixed it.....some sites work, but my swag comes up with all the topics, but doesn't show any of the threads ???
The internet explorer icon has gone altogether from the bottom task bar..
Coming up with warning msg's to restart the computer and a virus warning box ??....don' t know whether it's legit or something to avoid ??

Well, I had pop up windows etc ( casino and other crap ) so I went into programs and uninstalled anything that got installed today and the laptop seems to be going as normal....

I have no internet explorer ( I'm using chrome )......does it matter ??  if so, what version should I use ??

G'day,

i find chrome a better browser anyway - you do not need IE


Latest version of Chrome

Version 37.0.2062.103 m
 
Google Chrome is up to date.

Internet explorer is crap. It's slow and uses more ram. Google Chrome is pretty good.

The only reason you need Internet Explorer is for those rare sites that refuse to play nicely with chrome.

Thanks all.......even though the laptop is probably not performing like a Ferrari, it'll do for now !!   :cup:
