Hey everyone I will be buying a camper trailer in the next month or so what have people done for storing their cookware n food items it their soft floor campers thanks

We just used different sized plastic tubs from bunnings or big w that were the best fit to be stacked inside our trailer. Worked well for us.

So far I've squeezed everything into to eh plastic tubs. ONE day I will build a nice big drawer to slide in and out for all the stuff that won't fit into the kitchen.

We put ours in ply boxes - reasonably light, tough and easy to make to fit the space. Have some old plastic tubs we use in the trailer body for when we need to carry a bit extra (tinned stuff etc when going to be away for a few weeks). One of the reasons I upgraded from tent camping to a camper trailer was the kitchen.
Started off with everything in a few plastic tubs. Would have to rat around just to find a spoon, hated it. Then I bought a collapsible cupboard so that I could unpack the main cooking equipment and food into it, that worked much better during camping and it meant that everything was closer to hand that even the kids could find it!
But
It also took alot longer at setup and packup, building that cupboard wasnt always easy - though they do have instant cupboards now. Also I would have to unpack the stuff out of the tubs into the cupboard which meant double handling and extra time. Packup was the worst part, I would have to empty both the cupboard and the tubs and then jigsaw the gear back into the tubs, this part was time consuming and I hated doing it.
On its own it probably wouldnt be to bad but then our family took a fair amount of stuff, bedding, kitchen, tent, sometimes toilet and shower tents (you know the instant ones that are easier to abandon at camp than to try and wrangle, fold, spin and twirl back into the circle shape!) esky, chairs, tables ect that all had to be packed down and carefully arranged into the garden trailer. It could take hours :'(
When we bought a camper, I wanted all the kitchen gear to be close at hand so I didnt have to worry about it, just pull it out at the start and close it up at the end. Most of the campers we looked at (budget end) didnt have a kitchen that would allow that to happen, so I ended up adding a Drifta DPOR and I love it. I open it and I close it! Still have to spend time packing all the kids bedding, but some things I will never get away from I think ???
Alot of swaggers have made their own kitchens that include plenty of storage, have a look in the build up thread there is plenty to learn.

You could try something like this;
Tubs stack, so there would be no reorganizing and everything has its own spot.

with this style you can still pack gear on top of the draws

I'm picking up a drawer (1580x640x440) this weekend to fit on slides so I can easily access my gear without having to load / unload.
I went through the plastic tubs, onto plastic drawers and have now bit the bullet on permanent storage.
I'll post a pciture of it when I pick up and then one in a few weeks when its installed.

since getting our CT we have started using the boxes in the attached link, they are stackable, fit under the bed in our Hard floor and are reasonably cheap and sturdy, I have found nothing worse than trying to pack up for a long trip and having 10 different containers with stuff in, 1 type that is stackable for us. :D

if you can afford or make it a big sliding drawer is the go then you dont have to crack your head or unload boxes every time you want something as murphy will dictate that the box you want is right up the end and everything has to come out

We used milk crates. Cut the top off some to zip tie onto standard crates to make them the full height of the bed base so they hold more and stuff wouldn't bounce out of them. We then made short ropes with dog lead type catches to connect them together so when you pull one out it drags the next one ready for removal, and so on. Saves reaching into the dark and dusty cavern.
They can also make half decent emergency chairs.
The big bonus was the strength, the big un-bonus was how much dirt got on the kitchen gear on dusty roads.
Memo to self.... fix the bloody seals you lazy bastard.

We have done the same and squeeze chux cloths and tea towels etc in the gaps.

Our Drifta pull out kitchen and storage drawer were the best investment we made. Easy to put things away in the cupboards and drawers and we have a divider at the end of the storage drawer for larger containers...flour, oil, chips, bread, etc, etc. We live on the road, not on holidays.
