Title: PATRIOT CAMPERS
Post by: woolgoolgaoffroad on August 22, 2014, 05:53:14 PM
hi all

I did a search here on Patriot campers and can't seem to find any owners cruising the forum, so I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with one of the x1 Patriot campers ?
Would really like to hear from an owner on how they fare in the bush and for general touring.

Fank you

Not an owner, but had a look at them at the Perth Caravan & Camping Show.

Quality looks good, but for the money I'd go for a UEV345. The UEV has better/more storage, bigger tent/bed comes with a National Lunar fridge freezer and AFAIK is now cheaper than the Patriot.

I had a good look over them, at the last show here on the coast, I like them a lot. I wouldn't own one, only because we are happy with what we have, and the only thing I don't like is the roof top tent idea. But I see the benefits in it, it's just we don't like RTT in general, but that's just me.

They look to be very well built and thought out.

nah , axle arrived today , damn it looks big .. lol
just trying to work out what rims to put on it , changing to a 5 stud to match the wagon , when we do the axle .

just toying with the idea of some vinyl wrap on the pie=-van , too expensive to paint it properly

I've been wanting to find out the same but they probably haven't been around long enough for some decent owner reviews. They are an impressive looking unit in the flesh and very compact for what you get. At the Melbourne show a couple of weeks ago they did say that they will no longer use their Adelaide dealer and focus solely on their Brisbane base for sales and construction.

They are probably very good for what they are, but I think they are overpriced..

$20,000 plus for a roof top tent ??

$15,000 tops is more in line I think......

Agreed. Plus you would have more fun getting your own built at a local engineering place.

Mike Pavey is a dealer with them. He has some demo units for sale. Google him and you will find plenty of info. I believe he may be winding up his Franchise to so some more travel so he may have a decent special or two going.

The guy that makes the Drifta kitchens has a, sort of, upgraded version of them. Looks quite impressive too!
