Title: Favourite "bad movie"
Post by: lino6 on August 18, 2014, 10:19:36 PM
Sitting here watching Sharknado and was wondering if anyone has a favourite bad movie.

Sharknado is up there for me. The 1988 classic "The Blob" is a good "bad" one too. Haven't seen Snakes on a plane yet...!

Eraser head, possibly one of the most obscure and unwatchable tragedies of movie making to exist.
Oops, that is not a "favourite" anything, it's just plain bad. But worth mentioning anyway.

Chicken Park.
Tried watching this about 20 years ago on two separate occasions and couldn't make it through to the end no matter how many homemade brownies I ate.
Come to think of it, this is around the time my sleep problems started and if I ever end up with diabetes it probably caused that too.
Don't watch it!

BMX Bandits is Nicole Kidman's finest movie to date. Still hurting from when my mate and I (about 30 years ago) hired it from the video shop and got it home and it was worn out. We couldn't watch it. Worst bit was he lived out of town so we couldn't go back and get another. Devo'd!

Thank you Lino6,  Tremors was what I was trying to think of!

Saw a bit of Sharknado last night. Loved it!

Waterworld, OMG what a heap of c#$p, just like 99% of K Costner movies.  How about the Postman, surely that's up there too as a blight on Hollywood.
And the first Lawnmower Man wasn't much better, Pierce Brosnan must be ashamed he ever signed up for that!!

The Flying High movies are classics as is Attack of the killer tomatoes, and I love Kill Bill :cup:

How about 'The Stuff' with Sammy Davis Jr or the roadrunner ripoff 'Cactus Jack' with a young Arnold Schwarzenegger and Kirk Douglas? (though it is pretty cool and I did laugh myself stupid the first time I watched it ;D)

Oh, and although I like most of the movies Nicole Kidman is in, I have to agree she is the worst actor ::)

Review
"You know that foreign exchange student from high school who used to creep out all the girls with his clumsy leering and broken-English pick-up lines? Well, he's all grown up and somebody gave him money to make a film. Tommy Wiseau, whose accent could best be described as "half-drunk Croatian cyborg", stars as Johnny, the man with the most sculpted ass in all of San Francisco. His girlfriend Lisa, played by oft-topless Juliette Danielle, seduces his best friend, played by department store mannequin Greg Sestero. To go any farther with the plot would be overdignifying this laugh-out-loud crapfest. Imagine a two-hour episode of "Red Shoe Diaries" written and directed by Balki from "Perfect Strangers". Trust me, this is the worst movie you will ever see ever in your entire life. Ever. But is it pathetically awful or sadistically hilarious? What you think will depend on your life experiences and viewpoint. But we can all agree, it's a big, steaming nut-filled turd."

Just watched Mallrats, classic!

Dogma and Jay and silent Bob strike back are another 2 that are fun to watch.

One that SWMBO doesn't like to watch is Van Wilder, kinda sick in a funny way!
Yea they are all good movies, almost watched mal rats but decided tv being what it is it will be back on in days.

Anyone ever see peter Jacksons first movie "bad taste" ?
Absolute classic.  That killer sheep one made a few years ago wasn't bad either, well both were bad but goodly bad

I've got a big soft spot for the Evil Dead Trilogy and also from Dusk til Dawn.  Guess I like schlock horror films

A Thousand Bloody Acres.
It has the comedian Angus Sampson. One of those ridiculous movies that gets you sucked in, just to see what happens next.
