Hey there
Looking into organising my first camping trip in the new camper and one of the caravan parks we want to go to has this stated in their park rules
"Caravan and trailers
All vans and trailers must be placed onto the site so the drawbar as approved by the registration is facing the road or access, so immediate removal can be undertaken in the case of an emergency."
This would mean that the annex and entrance to the camper would be facing away from the road and into the camp site behind or the scrub.
I'm sure I've seen camper trailers set up with the hitch facing in and the annex facing the road?
So you can sit under the annex and check out what's happening and be social with other campers.
I wonder if the would be ok if it went side on to the road.
How do you guys position and set up in situations like this?

When you get there see how others have set up. Really, we've never set up with the drawbar facing to the road and never had an issue.
Most parks are pretty accommodating

Yep drawbar to the road is standard in most/all caravan parks.

Some caravan parks park I force the rule others don't......I I stay in a caravan park I always ask if they have powered tent/grassed sites, you generally get more room as well

In an emergency who is going to hook up their camper and tow it away?
Might be a few pegs, poles and some canvas in the way.
I've only ever stayed in one place with this rule and given they were nazis about every other little rule I wouldn't go back there anyway.
When it comes to traditional side fold soft floor campers in caravan parks you normally have to squeeze them onto the site any way you can manage.

Yes, some parks enforce the rule.
When booking ahead, if staying in a CP we always ask if there are sites suitable for a CT available.
Sometimes, we turn up and look at a site, and then ask for an alternative one, but if it's peak,season it may be hard to get an alternative.
Generally, you can get around it somehow with a bit of communication beforehand.

This. If it's about getting out quick only a van without an annexe is going to get away quick-ish. You aren't going to pack away a tent quick enough to hook up and drag the trailer away in non emergency, just grab the precious and leave the rest.

privacy when we were sitting out for a drink in the afternoon.

Actually our side fold is the same. All the living is 'out the back'

Yeah I like the idea of the privacy also! But I'm thinking of trying to enter and exit the tent mor than anything!
Having to walk between 2 sites with the chance of guy ropes being in the way!
We have the kids room that sits out on the draw bar side so we can enter from this side!
Guess it will be trial and error!
I know at Clarke's beach at Byron I have seen plenty park draw bar in and they also state this rule!
Crescent head is another!
You pr right in an emergency I'm outa there with the family, stuff the camper!
Thinking it might be more for vans if it catches fire they can pull it out away from others but whose gunna want to go near a burning van!

We're the opposite. Invite the neighbours in or visit their place.

This is why I try and get a drive through site when in caravan parks.....

Happy for the neighbours to come over for a drink or over to their place
just didn't like everyone walking along the access roads in the park disturbing the peace.
