Title: Which 4wd club, Gold Coast region?
Post by: Snapman007 on August 12, 2014, 08:17:14 PM
I'm interested to know if any GC Swaggers belong to a 4wd club.
I'm wanting to get out with the family and explore more of our region. I've been searching Google for local tracks but everything seems to be closed these days. I bought the Hema app and it too seems out of date for this area showing only closed tracks.
I'm not on Facebook and Google doesn't give much info about the clubs in the region.
Can anyone suggest a good club to join?

Pretty sure there's a few GC swaggers that are associated with a 4wd club, surprised they haven't replied? They must all be in bed, oldfarts.

I live in the same area.
Anymore info for this club? Google came back with a location in Mt Coot-tha.

I firstly must apologise for swinging this thread back to the original topic.

How did you go?

I had a look into it once also, found this web site and a few others, but didn't go any further.

I contacted them last year to get an address for the meeting and never got a response back. Never pursued them further.

I've spoke with a couple people who have left a local club due to the political stuff that goes on. That's not for me.
I like to get out with like minded people that are easy going and that don't mind a few beers in the arv, no politics, no agendas.

I camped with some of the Grafton crew last year and had a great time. Shame they're so far away.

Thats why my mate gave it away.
Sad bit is this club thing is going to be the go soon as they are earning a good reputation with the authorities and gaining access to the "Locked out" type places.

I'd rather the same type of camping and touring you mention also.

X2 Paul.  Don't have to live around the corner from the club to be a member, remember it is a 4wd club, you drive and meet them where ever the trip may be too. I guess it's just the meetings etc that you may miss out on

Olly is right.
i am trip co-ordinator & publicity officer for our club but due to my work hardly ever get to meetings. We are very laid back as far as that side of it is concerned.

they usually have more trips listed but apparently one of the organizers is getting work done on his truck.

Cheers
