Why am I here ?
Quick synopsis of the journey so far.
Bought 4wd 2 years ago after we both quit full time employment. Had six months working in Alice Springs with a little bit of touring around looking at the local tourist sites.
Came back to NSW and the wife found a tagalong tour. 10 weeks, 13,500kms. Included Anne Beadell/CSR/Simpson. Twelve months saving/planning/accessorising. Just completed same.
In the 12 month lead-up I spent about 4 months working remotely around Alice and Katherine.
We are now in the planning phase of (hopefully) transitioning to my doing remote work on a contract basis as a primary means of employment. The idea is to work a bit then tour a bit then work a bit then tour a bit – you get the idea.
The decision to go down this path was made a few months back, although I have had the idea for a couple of years and have done a lot of researching. As a result camper trailer as accommodation won over rooftop tent and so a camper trailer has been purchased.
So now the adventure begins, sort of. Just need to –
Learn to tow, forward and backwards.
Reconfigure the truck from a tourer to a tug.
Learn how to use the CT.
Sell some equipment we no longer require and purchase the odd thing we don’t yet have.
Learn about things I think I now need to know about – brake controllers, solar panels etc
Pick up any tips and tricks I can from the forum.
Give back where I can
Have a good time
Cheers

Welcome to the Zoo if you don't poke sticks at the animals they shouldn't bite you , Enjoy your time here

Thanks for the welcome people.
I suppose I do have the odd photo around I could post, although an unfortunate technical issue meant we lost 10 days worth of photos from the trip.
And the CT is coming Monday or Tuesday so that might be worth the odd pic or two.
Unfortunately there are times when the urge to poke is irresistible.
I suppose I'd better flesh out some detail on location, truck and CT in the appropriate places but no rush.
