Hi All
Hair had this YouTube link sent to me and thought I would share.
Please see the attached link for a six aircraft (very loose) formation over Sydney on 17th April 2014. Pretty good low flying and views over Sydney, Grose Valley, Colo/Hawkesbury River, Waragamba Dam, Parklea areas before landing at Richmond, Low flying speed 320-350 knots = 590-650 kilometres per hour, height probably as low as 200-300 feet.
While the Mrs and I are watching she asks if I miss the old job. I have to admit life was a lot more exciting then but no regrets for leaving.

Thanks Muzza
I was in Penrith that day and saw them heading west, rang the wife and she and the boy got a great view as they flew over the mountains.
Went in the old hercs a few times in Cadets. Was very memorable although the best view I ever got was heading down mt Vic pass and as we looked to the right over the valley we looked down on a here coming up!! Was amazing.

Cool, I remember back in the late 90's, we were in two ship formation flying low and fast down the valley over the Kawarau river and Lake Wakatipu before landing in Queenstown. That was an awesome view.
Thanks Muzza

That would have looked pretty cool.

Loved the gravel truck though. They used to hook us up and let us stand at the ramp and throw dunny rolls out.

I was lucky enough to work for the RAAF for 12 years as a civvie when I left the Army. I used to fly interstate on the Big Blue airline in Hercs regularly and it was great fun. Thanks for the video.

Would sure save you some time. I remember when we left the RAAF and did the big move from Sydney to Cairns. We drove for 3.5 days (drove me nuts - I hate driving) and all I was thinking was that it was a bloody four hour trip in the Herc. We could have just loaded the Troopy and trailer in the back of a C130

Umm, no, I meant drive the qantas plane.

Dave it's been close to twenty years since I "drove" anything in the air. And it was never as complex as today's planes. I think your much safer with the current well trained Qantas jockeys.
