Title: Which Camper Trailer
Post by: TheTroj on June 16, 2014, 06:37:53 PM
Howdy all

Beginning the search for a camper trailer for our family. We are a family of four with 2 kids (currently 2 and 4). We would look to head off for 10 days or so twice a year for our "major" breaks then weekends throughout the year. The budget we are looking at is around 9 to 10k (I know likely in the bottom range of the market but you can only afford what you can afford, right? lol). We went to the camping show in Brisbane the other weekend and a few options caught our eye. Been looking around on the net and the following options seem to be in order:

Emu Campers (although can not find too much about them on the net). Campers looked good at the show.

Leisure Matters, something along the lines of their trooper delux, however have read some negative things around the net on these guys. Also to these novice eyes like they are almost too good value to be true.

Was put onto Making Tracks by a mate and they also seem to be good value and would look at a custom trailer here

Just wondering if anyone had any opinions on which way we should swing with this decision or had any other options I may have overlooked in my research? Any and all help greatly appreciated!

Not sure how much of a hurry you are in to buy one, but there is a myswag meet next month at Darlington park near Kerry (beaudesert). At the moment there is I think 19 families going, a great chance to come and check out about 19 different trailers and talk to there owners in the real world, not sales pitch.

Check out the thread in the trips section, everyone is welcome, tent, camper trailer, but not vans.  Oh ok you vans guys too  ;D

Now that's a top idea and perfect opportunity to get some honest feedback.

Great idea indeed. Having read the thread though those dates would not be suitable for us.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences on the trailers/sellers mentioned?

For 9-10K you will find some ripper 2nd hand CT's. Keep an eye out on the classifieds here.
