gday all, just thought i would let you know about something that happened to a mate of a mate.he went fishing on his own and when he got back to the boat ramp his trailer had the wheels stolen off it.he tied up his boat in the water and disconnected his trailer and left to got a couple more wheels for his trailer so he could get his boat home.when he returned the boat and the trailer were gone,so the pricks who took the wheels just waited until he returned back to the ramp so he would leave the trailer there so they could get the whole outfit.this happened at nudgee in brisbane so just be aware if you get back to the ramp to find your wheels gone dont leave it.

That really really is a low act. I had to say it nice cause of forum rules..

These oxygen thieves believe that if you are silly enough to get caught by this then they have the right to do it to you. ???
Grizzly

Yep, spare tyres are also fair game apparently. Learned that the hard way. These days all wheels on my boat trailer have locking nuts and trailer securely padlocked to the car not just the hitch

I really, really, really want to catch some one doing this - stuff the rules, they deserve what ever they get >:D

Don't you just wish you could catch these guys in the act >:D

Oldest trick in the book, they would have been sitting there watching him from the moment he turned up at the boat ramp. The other way they do it is to flog the trailer and then go to another boat ramp, when you leave your boat to go sort out another way to get your boat home they take the boat and load it up at the other ramp.

That would be where a Trailcam would have been great. Capture the whole bloody lot of em on video. Movement activated they are more useful than you think and easy to conceal

Last year my Brother in law came back from a days fishing to find his whole trailer stolen. He did have the safety chain padlocked to the towbar, but they just used bold cutters to cut the chain.
Quick phone call was made via the mobile, I take my boat off my trailer, drive to the ramp, put his boat on my trailer, go this his place and take his boat off, return home and put my boat back on my trailer. All up a very time consuming job, but these things have to be done in a time of need. Plus in the 90 minutes it took me to get to the ramp he went fishing again and catches some very nice fish 100m from the ramp.
I often use Nudgee Creek boat ramp, but I will never leave my car there at night due to being so isolated plus the ground is always covered in glass from broken windows.

Heard of a boat and trailer go missing a couple of weeks ago. They undone the u bolts, one hub nut and slid the axle out with the other wheel and wheel clamp still attached. Towed the tandem trailer away on one axle.

At least the scumbags had to go to a little effort. Isn't there some garbage in life.
