Hi ,
we just purchased a new Jayco Swan out back, love it.
can you mount two jerry cans on the rear bumper, one each side of the spare tyre?
thanks
steve

It it's for fuels, no. Same as for a car.
Like gas bottles, if mounted, the current standard is that they need to be protected, ie, within the front A frame or within side panels.

thanks Mace, looks like I will have to design something on the front

I bought my Dove secondhand and it came with 2 jerry holders on the back. Not sure if I would hold petrol on there but diesel and water would be no probs.

I fitted 2 removable ones to the rear bar of our Eagle for our extended camps at xmas when we need more water.

They're not that well protected, but are only used when required and it's onroad stuff.
I had to use a shorter jerry can to miss blocking the number plate and lights.

I know nothing about engineering but if you look in the manual it says something like you can only add about 7kg to the bar (assuming it's the same as the hawk).

I have wondered about this too, and my opinion on it is it is more of an ass-covering exercise, as when the rear bed is out and supported, look where the weight is supported...on the rear bumper! The beds are rated to hold 150kg.

I was told the beds are rated to 350kg each. I hope it's not 150kg because the combined weight of 2 adults would be over that in most cases.

Especially 2 "intimate" adults...
Have seen many bumper with 2x spare wheels on them. Not sure if it was an option but I have not seen any extra bracing either.

Yeah I think you guys are right about 150 kg being a bit light on. Would have to be more than that!!
Re extra Jerry's, taking into account the other replies, it would seem the best solution would be to add an additional one up front, giving 2 Jerry' total. Tow Ball weight would be getting close to 200kg though, with 2 Jerry's, full gas and front boot full of gear to add to the stamped weight on the compliance plate.

The beds are rated 350kgs each.
The manual states the rear bar can only support 30kgs and spare is around 23kgs. But then see aboves comments with the beds supported by frame...
I have 2 Jerrys at the front upon request. Label states for water only. I usually fill them up if water is not available at camp. Tow ball weight would def be getting up there ::)

I think it is like roof racks meaning
The static load when set up may be 350kg
But the dynamic load when bouncng up and down on the road may be a lot less
