Title: Co-pilot / recovery assistant / shot gun passenger required - position filled
Post by: Chris J on May 11, 2014, 05:18:13 PM
Hi All,

My wife Janice won’t be able to make the 2014 Cape Trip so that leaves a spot free with me if anyone is interested, I’m a bit pushed for time so I plan to travel with the group as far as Eliot falls, leaving Eliot falls Sunday  29th to head back to Townsville

The OKA won’t be ready as the camper conversion has been held up.  I have recently purchased a 2012 BT-50 dual cab with open tray; the BT-50 has a little bit of bling and should make the distance with-out problems.

Departure will be from Townsville either Thursday 19th June mid-afternoon or on Friday morning the 20th, I can collect a passenger anywhere between Townsville and Cairns (coast road) if that helps or meet the person in Cairns whatever is easier for the passenger.

I will have one 50L waeco fridge freezer and one small esky for food and drink; I have a RV-5 tent with the additional side and front wall, two fold up camp stretchers and a Swag for myself.

Snorers will need to bring their own tent and sleep away from me!.

I live fairly basic i.e. simple meals and enjoy a few drinks in the evening.

The plan would be to share the cost fuel, food, and drinks. You will also need to share the cooking and help with camp setup and pull down.

Potential co-pilot / recovery assistant / shot-gun passenger need to either reply to the forum, PM me or call me on 07 47 404118 for further details.

Regards, Chris.

Having camped with Chris on more than one occasion I can say he is more than generous, he's a fantastic bloke all round.

I must say it will be a little weird not seeing him behind the wheel of the OKA.

Definitely agree with all of that Symon....and it'll also be odd not having the OKA diesel noise in the background....

Chris can your record the noise of the OKA and play it through loud speakers.  ;D

A great opportunity to not only enjoy the company of Chris but also go on a great trip with a fantastic bunch of people.  :cup:

Don't miss this.

Mark

Hi Chris

I noticed that Bert has pulled out due to expenses. Maybe he might consider going with you as he wouldn't have to take his vehicle and by sharing costs would save him a bomb.. Just a thought.

If I didn’t already have a major family holiday planned for a couple of month’s time, I would have been the first to reply to your request and the feedback from people in regards to previous trips sounds like your in for a fantastic time.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you Chris for this opportunity.

Looking forward to the trip.

I will have to see if I can claim expenses as a work deduction  for the visiting Maytown for research as apparently there was a Cobb & Co station there

Regards

Well what can I say. What a brilliant trip with brilliant people.

I can not thank Chris enough for his generosity in allowing me to travel with him.

Regards Ray

PS Chris you should have checked my bag as I have brought your towel home.
