Ok thinking about one of these lightbars, more specifically a Cree version, are they worth it, if I install one can I do away with the 100 watt spots I have, been told to look for more spot than flood.
possibly a 23 inch version.
Your thoughts people ....? ;D

I bought one from McGirr, highly recommend.
They are amazing, you will do away with your spot ties.
Everyone that has come for a ride with me at night, when I flick it on, they say "HOLY Shit!!!!!"

What did you get Azz? Been thinking of doing this myself, but didn't know if it was worth it.

Ummm, can't remember how long, it has 18 globes, a Combo.
Went away over Easter with two mates, they were asking about it, first night I flicked it on, they were blown away, both are looking into getting one now. (aka, begging their wives)
I already had IPF driving lights, when the light bar is switched on, you don't even know they are on.
When I get around to buying an electronic winch solenoid, I will be able remove the winch stuff off the bulbar, throw the IPF's up the tip and mount the light bar lower on the bar, currently mounted to the top rail of an ARB winch bar.
They are seriously good. I cannot recommend highly enough.
McGirr was awesome to deal with, from memory it was four days from when I contacted him to having it bolted to my Amarok.
I live in regional Victoria, so getting stuff here is slow too.

I am very happy with the flooding of light that my light bar produces, it's brilliant. For distance though, you can't compare an LED light bar with HIDs. The HIDs will win. Having spots and a light bar is the go.

Got a 20" combo off McGirr and will not put on spotties as well, the light bar is plenty, only fitted it last night the quality is excellent.
Looked at all the ones on eBay and ones on others vehicle at work, the ones on ebay are cheaper than McGirr's but as always you get what you pay for..................

Lightbars give exceptional light. Most people go with a combo which includes spots and flood beam on the sides.
Everyone is different in what they like in lighting. Some want distance while others prefer light everywhere. HID will go further( up to 700 metres) while light bars will go up to 400 metres.
The light they put out is incredible.

With out doubt the best piece of lighting I have fitted to my wagon...the resulting light is awesome, not a distance feature, but a brilliant white light which turns night to day, mine is 22" bar, and is set up for flood only, it is only good for prob 70mts give or take, but its the bomb.

Hmm so a mixed result, love the distance I get from the HID's, but miss the spread I guess.
Thanks for the imput guy's.
Think I will get one, combo, so I still get some distance and a good spread.
Just need to look at the bar and make sure I have enough room on there. ;D

If you have spots already, go for a flood only lightbar. If you want to remove the spots, get a combo. I have had both and that would be my recommendation

Like I have said before on here, I have the 210mm HIDs and a 20'' light bar and the light spread is fantastic. Turn the HIDs off in the fog and run with the light bar with no throw back of light. 8)

BHG, I have a 20 inch flood bar from McGirr, they turn night into day in front and to the sides of the car. And because i love to see as far down the road as possible i will be up grading to HID's when SHMBO release's the purse strings.
