Hi All
So. Here we are having a great time in Canberra with just one problem,,, the tents leaking,,,,,, :'(
Now we have a few drips from a couple of seams etc but given the tent is sent up on a area the goes up and down in all directions this is only to be expected as the water is pooling in places, more of a concern is a line of drips about 75mm wide running the with of the main tent area now this part of the roof has been wet many times before without a problem and there is no seam there but on closer inspection it does seem to be dirty on the inside, looks like from when the tent is folded up, my problem is we are packing up tomorrow and having a few nights travelling back to Drouin through the hills and if we get more rain the boys will get wet as they need to sleep under this area when set up for overnighters
What can I do on the road if anything as I might not get the canvas dry before arriving home in which case what's my best option. Then do you think
Cheers. Graham

Go Down the street and get a lightweight tarp to use for sheltering the kids inside the tent.
Set the tarp so it runs the water to the lowest point under the wall of the tent.
So the water will get away, and not pool inside the tent.
Use any opportunity to dry the tent you can, even running a Fan heater inside it as much as possible.

Here's a pic of the problem,,,,,, just had a brainwave I can just put a tarp over that side of the roof,,,,,,
Doh you beat me to it cruiser ;D

If Your getting a tarp, can you afford to get a tarp big enough for a fly.
A tent fly over the whole tent will help with drying out the tent.
As well as assist with wet weather pack up.

I have a big tarp at home so I don't really want to buy another but I do carry a couple of 3x3 with me plus we are packing up about 7.30 am so no chance to get one before then the boys are in the extra room still tonight so will be dry but I may through one over when we set up again tomorrow., once we are home I don't have any worries drying the tent as we have a huge carport or the barn I can set it all up in which should be Sunday

Good luck. Safe trip.

You could try a spreader bar - inside the tent, to stop the water pooling.

Ok so the little fella. Decided he missed his Mum too much to spend a few days travelling back so we packed up yesterday and headed home and given the weather we went through I think he made the right choice got back at 10:30pm and then woke you to blue sky's. I think we will set up again and camp the rest of the weekend at home,,,,,,, at least it will be quieter than the cp in Canberra
