picked up one of these yesterday ,morning, going to mount it in the prado. Couldn't say no for $58 for a camera and screen, cheaper than ebay!

I rigged it up last night, all I can say is im impressed with the quality of the camera and screen for the price. I was thinking of fixing it off via 1 or 2 small screws off the the a pillar to the right of the windscreen, this way its out of the way and nice and visible. The monitor mount has 3m tape, however it will just fall off after time so screwing it off will be necessary. I bent my camera bracket so I can mount it just above the tow bar, and I tapped into the reverse light under the plastic cover inside the rear door. Will put some pics up this weekend of the install if it helps out. So far I've wired the camera and monitor up to reverse wire and earth, and when reverse is selected the monitor turns on, move out of reverse and it turns off. Great little unit.
Its got two camera inputs although the unit only comes with one, was thinking of possibly buying another cheap camera off ebay and mounting one on my bulbar for off roading, could be pretty handy for keeping an eye on ruts etc. I haven't tested the unit with two cameras but I think you would have to rig it up on a switch for the front camera to make it work as its not a split screen system or anything like that.

Bargain :)
With the switching, if there are two inlets there should be some sort of switch to change from one to the other. It won't be split screen but instead display one or the other at a time.
If there is no switch, you may find that you have to remove the camera cable before it will display the other, my GPS is like this, which is pointless.
I like the idea about mounting one on the front for 4 wlding, but it would need to be pretty water tight including you connections. This would go for the rear one as well, I assume they only use RCA cables?
If the camera is water tight you could always look at upgrading you connections, it would still work out to be a good value system.
I wonder if you could heat shrink the connections?

Its RCA's to the monitor but the connection to the camera is a watertight plug so should be ok. I will mount it up inside my chassis at the rear of the car and will heat shrink it up and tape it as well just to make sure. Camera is waterproof so all good. Yes you're right the screen can switch between so no need to fit a switch.

other option is to cut the rca's off and solder if someone was worried about that connection I suppose.

Most have input 1 as the main camera. When it gets that signal it displays that one. Camera 2 displays if no signal from 1
Put reverse to 1 and front to 2

Think I'll be going to super cheap early tomorrow. Bargain I like the idea of 2nd camera. Might get 2 at that price

l have a Swan reversing camera that works really well . lf the screen is left on power as you it receives signal from other remote cameras where ever you go . Spotted the tow ball of a rig passing by , the security cameras on shops , houses & front gates , lots of fun :cup:

Got one tonight. Only 2 left in Cairns out of 3 stores.

Got online last might for the "click & collect" at SCA. waited for confirmation today, at lunch got sick of waiting went down, showed my email, lucky, nobody had done anything & they only had one left on the shelf.
So if you do the click & collect thing on a super special item dont wait for them let you know its ready to collect as you may miss out.
Now over to prado2004's thread on installation. I hate trying to do electrical installs on newish cars....... sigh.... ???
