I've done two searches on here this arvo. One to get info as to the effectiveness of the rooftop pressure hatch on my Goldie Wing 1....inconclusive, & two, searched info on vent covers.
Someone a few months ago, in one of the search posts, put a link up about what Jayco said about vent covers but the link is broken.
So
1) Do the pressure thingies work. I'm talking a fair bit of dirt driving here. (I know a fishes bum won't keep bulldust out.)
2) If they don't work are vent covers legit. I saw a thread where a member forgot to remove his fridge cover & nearly had a big problem. Luckily he remembered before it was too late.
Thanks

Steffo,
I've been running dust covers on my Jayco hawk for 4 and a half years and have done some miles.
I have never had a problem even with it shut up, fridge running on a hot day (think 45 degree's - NT) for over nine hours and other than the bench top being "mildly" warm to touch, not a problem.
It doesn't help with the fridge cooling and chews battery power, but while your driving it doesn't matter.
I however always remove them when I stop. and never ever ever forget the door vent -( gas regs, death etc etc)

I think the pressure vents are a waste of time for dust control. We leave ours shut to keep the gravel out....
I am seriously considering adding a 3" bilge blower and a Donaldson filter for dust control. The fan will pressurise the van with nice clean air. Anyone who has done it seems very happy with the result.

I use a flat air filter in a housing and a 125mm computer style fan to pressurize my box on the back to keep dust out. Works well.
