Title: Recommend camper hire from Brisbane
Post by: Mik01 on December 22, 2013, 03:45:31 PM
Hi there,

Have done a search but no answers.

Have you hired a camper in Brisbane and who would you recommend?
I'm (still) looking to buy, but want to hire first to make sure the family is into it fully.

I have 3 young children, so must be a decent size internally and have full awning walls and/or mesh.

Also, could you recommend Anything I should ask for, or check when hiring?

Would appreciate any advice. Thx, Mike

I don't know if these would be suitable, but Johhnos Camper trailers hire, and have an outlet in Brisbane.

x2 Totally recommend Johnnos Campers. Have hired thru them before we bought our camper and the service and quality are excellent.
Cheers and enjoy your trip.

"Just up the road" in Toowoomba is this place: http://www.beatsworkingcamperhiretoowoomba.com.au/ (http://www.beatsworkingcamperhiretoowoomba.com.au/)

Not sure what they are like, never hired, however have seen the ads.  Use lifestyle campers, so pretty decent quality.

Cheers
Chris

Talk to Dave from Trackabout, they used to hire campers before taking over the business. Pretty sure they still do.

Have hired a couple of times in the past from this crowd before we bought our CT. They have Jayco CT's and Pop Top vans.

They're located in the Eastern suburbs.

Mate, from memory I think the Johnnos campers are light enough that a brake controller isn't required and they all have the Hyland Offroad hitch on them that you only need a tow ball on the 4wd. Easy as. Give em a ring and they will let you know all the good stuff. Get out there and enjoy. All there campers are ready for beach.
Cheers

We hired a Johnno's camper twice before we built our own.
There a great camper. The camper we hired was the Premier off road.
Very basic kitchen setup with annex and one annex wall.
At the time we hired (2010) they didn't have brakes however I believe they do now.
On both occasions we went to Moreton island and had no dramas towing the camper behind the patrol.

We hired ours from Caboolture, but im not sure if they have a franchise operating there anymore.
The website has Manly West as the Brisbane outlet.

check out the website.
