Title: Recovery Vehicles for the trip
Post by: McGirr on December 20, 2013, 06:59:33 PM

If any members coming are not towing a camper please let me know as we will use you to assist on some tracks.

I know we have Yogi in his "Weapon" a fully kitted 80 series that is an awesome beast as one recovery vehicle.

We will need help on some tracks especially the old coach rd.

Members going please make sure you have D Shackles properly rated, snatch strap as a minimum.

If you don't have a winch no problem as some of the recovery vehicles will but it may cost you a few beers to be assisted out of tight places.   ;D

It is great that the "Yogi" bear is coming.

When did you sign up? I missed it.

Yogi will you be bringing that fully stocked bar, barbeque and the weber?

NOW I WANT TO CAMP NEAR YOGI.

HI Mark,

I can help out, I have winch and weight and yes I have found both high range 4wd and low range 4wd so I won’t be driving the OTL in 2WD this year.

Regards, Chris

At this stage Kirsty hasn't been confirmed as a goer for the trip, so if she isn't able to make it I'll go without the camper.

Fixed.....again..... :P ;D ;D

So, based on the rivalry, all of the Toyota and Nissan drivers are not expecting to need help..................hence everybody is expecting the Pajero TO get stuck.....

That being the case, is the going rate that everybody pays me  if I DON'T get stuck ?????

Well the word from Kirsty is that she isn't going, so I will be able to fill recovery duties.

It will just be me and a mate not taking the trailer so if all you cruiser drivers dont object to being pulled out by a Patrol mine is available for a recovery vehicle.

I have a winch and all recovery gear but would prefer to use your straps etc.

Generally speaking everyone will have their own straps to use.  If a winch is fitted to the stranded vehicle then that is the one we use.

OK Symon.....what happened on Fraser that changed her mind........

She has a overseas trip planned at the same time.

Great to see we have 4 recovery vehicles. The only place that will be a challenge is the Old Coach Rd. This will be harder than the OTL  X 100. ;D

The Adrenalin will be pumping.

Sorry to read that, Symon. Hope the OS trip goes well for her.

Will your "brother" be tagging along instead?

He might be, but I might also see if my biological brother wants to come along as well.
