Car driver was a moron, those wire dividing barriers work well, but why was the truck in the right lane?

Just proves that they'll give a license to anyone. I do agree with D4D's question though

The truck was clearly lining up to pass the box trailer in the left lane.

Yep, just watched it again and didn't realise how quickly he was actually gaining on the ute.

Have that crap happen on a regular basis when pulling out into right hand lane to start passing. He should have kept pushing the dumb bastard.  >:D

Everyone is always in a hurry these days and cant wait two seconds for the truck to over take then pull back over.
I think in the end cameras on cars will be asked by the insurance companies soon for cheaper insurance, or they just wont insure you if you don't at least with the cameras there would be no he said she said and the insurance companies would probably save a lot of money!

Looks like he was overtaking a slower moving vehicle to me.

so he was overtaking on the inside (which i believe is illegal isn't it?) because he was to impatient to wait for the truck to get past the slower vehicle in the left lane. truck looked to be going up a slight incline which may have slowed him a touch, but it was obviously going faster then the vehicle in the left lane towing the box trailer, so IMHO the truck driver was doing nothing wrong. obviously we don't know what happened before that as far as the truck being in the right lane for how long? but with the video footage shown, looks like an impatient person who's learnt a lesson there

Based on my experience I'd say a long time

Is that a green P plate beside the number plate on that car, It seems the boys of the blue badge of reality would like to talk to the crashed cars driver, the crash wasnt reported to them apparently..

The driver was quoted in The Age saying that he had already overtaken another vehicle when the Commodore went up on his inside - that's why he was still in the right hand lane.
Great effort from the truckie to not give the car a love tap or the driver one afterwards.

Talk about jumping to conclusions.
Have a listen to an interview with the truckie.

They said on the news this morning that he had just over taken a slower car.. and I assume waiting to merge back to the left..
they are allowed in the right lane ya know..

If I was the informant the young buck in the commodore would be getting a hamburger with the lot, starting with 'Drive Manner Dangerous' at the top of the list of charges....
