Filthy maggots dumped a ute load of rubbish near our suburb today.
There is only one way in and one way out, and that is via a bridge over the river. The is beautiful and clean and is favoured by many for swimming.
It. Really disgusts me how people can dump their crap in such a beautiful spot. The tip is 15 mins down the road and for a loaded trailer is only $9. I hate their guts, plain and simple if I knew who is was I would bump a truckload of crap on their front lawn.

we get it all the time where we are ... just dropped on the sides of the road ... also cats / dogs
Muzza , you would properly find that this kind of scum would normally leave invoices / recipts / mail address in their rubbish ... just a thought ... 8)

Shits me to tears when I go out for a fourby at my local spot & the place is covered with rubbish. Now, you need a 4x4 to get in to this place, so it's a four wheel drive owner that is dumping this Shit & is only making all of us look bad. There will come a time when they lock us out of this particular spot & I bet they will be the first to whinge. The really silly part is, half the stuff they dump is free to dump at the tip & would take more effort and fuel to drive up into where they are dumping it.
Makes me so F*$%ing cranky. Even my 5 y.o. boy comments on it & calls them grubs.
Cheers, Mike.

Littering is an under rated offence IMO, and there are obviously generations of Aussies who have little respect for the environment, judging by the filth we see everyday and as hilited by this post. There's a lot to be said for punishing deliberate littering, my suggestion is a public whipping at half time at the footy. May sound 19th century England, but it would certainly provide a spectacle. Whether it would decrease littering is another matter, but recent political solutions to society's problems have hardly been tear away successes either.
Agree 100% muzza, and in particular you see it every day in the outdoors, whether camping or at home. Last week I rode from Ballina to Byron Bay and the amount of garbage on the road side that you just don't see from a car was astounding. Interested to hear REAL solutions to the problem, not my draconian approach.

Sometimes you can't blame them. Not that is any excuse.
How much do some of these recycle centres charge, my last load in Melbourne was $85 for a standard 6x4 load.
-
$9 for a loaded trailer is cheap, costs $60 for a 6x4 down here.
Illegal dumpers = smokers leaving their filthy butts everywhere. It is bad enough I have to breathe their smoke without having to walk into a building entrance over multiple butts.

$60 and $85 for a trailer load of rubbish = a very greedy Council. How can they justify those prices?
-
its not the council, it was the EPA that increased TIP fees a few years ago, council fees are fairly small, EPA fees are HUUUUGGGGEEE.

Some genius dumped a load of flyers for a local real estate office, I took a flyer and a happy snap around to the office and that distributor lost quite a bit of work plus a visit to the council ensured a fine and a clean up cost.
Talk about the unreasonable charges for tipping and recycling, it should be free to tip asbestos waste, dumping rubbish is bad enough but so often it's full of asbestos because the council wants $300 etc to bury it (not that, that is an excuse)
-
We pay nothing to dump anything at our tip and we have no rubbish around the place.
It's not rocket science, hey....
The crap we get around here is the odd bit stuff that falls off a trailer, as some of the oldies can't tie a rope like they use to.
The other good thing about our dump, is you can often find that stupid thing you're looking for that the Mitre 10 doesn't have.
-
Same here, our local dump is free too.
They can't afford not too. We live in an area surrounded by farm land. If they did charge, we would just find somewhere else to dump it.

One of the things we're really noticing going through SA is no roadside rubbish.
Maybe Simos and recycling centres etc should be more reasonable about access costs, so cumb dunts like that don't just dump it.

I like how SA has a deposit on their bottles and cans. Shame the other States dont do it.
