Hi all,
Not sure if I was in the right place but here goes.
Would like any info on the track conditions on the Port Macquarie to Point Plomer road , I spoke to the local tourist info but all they could tell me was that it was not council maintained.
Has any one been there recently?
Regards

hey Don
i was down there about 8 weeks ago. I went from Plommer to Port in my Cruiser. The road is rough and where the past flood waters have gone across the track- it has caused some deep holes. I used 4wd because it was slow going and that gave me more control and I used the clutch less. Honestly wouldnt be a problem in even a soft roader- just slow

G'day Donpato,
I have not been there for several years, although from memory it was passable by two wheel drive if care was taken, lots of corrigations and some water holes in the shaded areas. The road runs behind the sand dunes, last time I was there I passed a Gemini and an old Hiace, I'm sure some one here has driven it more recently than me, don't worry the Challenger will kill it.
Cheers,
Disco teddy.

I was at Point Plommer last week . I was advised to come in via Cresent Head.
I was towing a CT and from Cresent Head the road was good a bit corrugated towards the end but fine.
During the stay and had a look at the Port end. I didn't go the whole way seemed just ok but was slow going. As long as it didn't rain you could get through.

We'll did the trip & parts are definitely 4wd,(deep soft sand for 10 meters or so at a time)
The large holes were dry thankfully, would be interesting in the wet without a snorkel.
Had a great day with a BBQ ay Plomer and Coffee at Cresent Head afterward.
