Post by: Boriscangocamping on October 26, 2013, 01:04:04 PM
At the Canberra camping show on the verge of making a ARB fridge purchase. Also thoughts on a 78lt for a family of 4.  Comments and advice would be appreciated cheers

I have the ARB 47lt and love it. If the 78ltr isn't enough for you then you might want to look at your drinking problem

Cheers Andrew

Haha just debating whether a 78lt is an overkill for a family of 4

No such thing as 12 volt fridge overkill, if it fits go for it!

Cheers,

Disco teddy.

Im with Disco Teddy
We had a 60l for a few years for a family of 5 but also took a 60l Esky then bought  another 42l fridge to work side by side then sold the 60l and replaced it with a 80l on its own
Sold the 80l and now have a 140l Custom Evakool

Cheers Michael

We used the 95 lt for a family of four. Now most of the time it is just me and the Mrs. Always plenty of room for the luxury fridge items we don't normally take and plenty of room for my

We're a family of two, hubby (me) & SWMBO.  We travel with a 60 litre Evakool in the camper and a 60 litre Waeco in the Cruiser.  I'd love an 80 litre!

As said above, no such thing as overkill.

Depends on what sort of travelling your doing really.

If its just weekends and long weekends, its way over kill..
we have a 40ltr engel that's plenty big enough.
Although we have a techniice box for drinks .. fridges don't like to be opened every 5 mins by kids for drinks, this that and the other.

we have just done a lap and used a 35 as a freezer and  60 for a fridge. Depending on what your loading into them it was not enough room. Never enough  room!

Hi
I have a Companion dual zone 100L. 70L fridge/30L freezer separate doors. It's awesome with great power usage and the split doors are great so you are not opening freezer every time  you want to get something out. We are a family of 4 and I got this size so I could also have my caught fish fillets and frozen baits in good condition. Wouldn't swap for the world.

2 is always the best option.. gives you redundancy as well. as I found out :(
