I have been looking at these Oz Tent copies on eBay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/POP-UP-SIDE-TENT-AWNING-ROOF-TOP-TENT-CAMPER-TRAILER-4WD-4X4-CAMPING-CAR-RACK-/121108609080
Has anyone tried one? I thinking it would be ideal for me and the little one for overnight trips on the beach etc. I like the quick set up and the fact that it would attach to the sail track channel on the side of my awning.
Any feedback would be great. Cheers

Pay the extra and get the real thing otherwise you'll be paying twice...

Very cheap. Obviously they are not the quality of the real deal but at that price and what you want it for it might be worth giving it a go.

I wouldnt buy a tent without seeing how good the canvas really really is in person. no matter what the ad says.
That one packs up large if its like oztent, you will need a roofrack. and then to get it off the roofrack...
if its just you and 1 kid, get a 9x9 single pole canvas tent from Rays similar to this...

Had mine 9 years, never leaked, and piss easy to pack and put up.
Or a Blackwolf.. They are awesome quick to put up (it may not look fast, but 4 pegs, and push the springloaded center up and your in), packing can be a challenge until you have it down. But still... I love mine :)

YMMV
PS... look at youtube for how easy blackwolf etc are.

Thanks guys. I thought that would be the advice. I had SWMBO approval at $300, now to try my luck with double that. Will also look have a look at the pole canvas tents.
