Great show. Even the bride likes it, which is strange, because it 's about real stuff & not Home & Away, The Batchelor etc.
Cheers, Mike.
-
Next week should be good when they get the rain, finally.
I hope they give a better explanation for the 6 seasons then they have so far, the show is aimed at the European market and will be shown over there.
Don't it make you want to hook up and go.....
-
Absolutely brilliant show. :cup: Love the commentary and the rangers and the aboriginal content. After extensive travels around this country you do get a bit sad that you do not see too many aboriginals involved/working in the industry, however this show displays that they are heavily involved in looking after Kakadu. Love the episode where a traditional owner is hunting Magpie Geese. Not so traditional, just one big gun!
I think we love the show even more because we have been there and have flown over the park. Luckily we did not listen to negative comments about Kakadu. It is a fantastic place. Kevin and Kris

We had the same experience in this household too.
particularly, we love the Rangers and their genuine dedication and care

anyone got a working current Iview downloader?? most I've tried in recent times dont work. :(
-
If you have one of these Smart TVs you can access the net and watch previous missed episodes on a full size tv as well.
-
I only saw that series for the first time this weekend. It made me really want to experience the top end of Oz.
How good would it be to have a traditional owner to guide you around the place!
-
We are LOVING this series. Fantastic camera work, stories, narration and best of all, spectacular scenery.
Def makes us want to go back.
-
I watched episodes 1 & 2 on IView last night, really want to go to Kakadu now.
-
Last of the four episodes to be aired next week.

Definitely do it. Unlike Litchfield, Kakadu requires some effort to get around and see it all but it's a great place.
Here's a pic of us sitting on a rock at Ubirr over looking Arnhem Land :)

Don't forget it is on tonight at 7:30 on ABC1
-
Thanks.......

Last episode tonight, top show
-
Agree, great series. But even that only scratches the surface of what its like to be there and watch the seasons change.
Dave R if you want a good book on the 6 seasons get the one by Ian Morris called Kakadu. He is the guy in the series walking around in bare feet.
Cant wait to get back there one day and show the kids what its like.
-
I have been there 4 times - the first time in 1972 when only a proposed NP and when working for the mining industry (yes uranium explorers) and came back and said you guys have a problem. "You had better support and understand environmental impact assessments. Then in 1977 when I moved to the NT and was Paul Everingham's first press secretary. Then when I worked for the Civil Aviation Authority and launched a safety video in Darwin and took my wife out to Kakadu - and finally when I did a job for the then Commonwealth Environment Protection Agency on cleaner production in Darwin and took the opportunity to visit again.
I love it - will be going back next year with the camper the long way.
I know it so well.
-
OMG
Just want to pack up and GOoooooooo
-
Thanks ABC for iview.
Am currently avoiding a brain numbing aneurism whilst the rest of the family are watching X factor.
-
lt put me off a bit the logs that wink back at you all over the place . Magic program though :cup:

He is someone different alright, incredible dedication to the job by so many of the staff featured on the program, look how long they have been there for....
My point was more along the lines of explaining it for the Folk OS who will be seeing it. We have family in Europe, and will soon be told about this show as they watch it.
-
AArrrgghh! Only discovered this show by chance last night...but only saw the credits rolling up the screen!!!! :-[
Oh well, I'll have to pack em in, back-to-back off iView!
cheers!
Jono.
