Hi guys
Just wondering if anyone has found an effective insect repellent that's safe to use on babies?? Low irritant aeroguard can only be used on 12 months plus and it's not the greatest!! Any recommendations???

i dunno how suitable for under 12 months is, but we have been put on to a home made repellent.
equal parts baby oil, dettol and suncream. Mix it up in a spray bottle
keeps you 99.9% germ free also :)

We use the stick on mosquito patches for our kids. One patch every twelve hours does the trick. One on their tshirt or hat in the morning and then the other one goes on about dinner time and then transfer to their sleeping bags

We sometimes use 250ml baby oil, 250ml Dettol and 25ml pure citronella. seems to work okay and soothed any existing bites. You could replace the baby oil with sorbolene cream, so it's not greasy, or sunscreen for daytime?

Use to work in a pharmacy and we would make up a mixture of Johnsons baby moisturiser, with Dettol and citronella added. I just can't quite recall how much to add to the moisturiser. Perhaps pop into your local chemist and double check before putting it all over bub, they may make something up for you or tell you the correct ratio.

I use a product called YaMate which I picked up from the Rosehill show.
All natural, without DEET. Seems to work well, and the kids don't mind the smell.

I use petrol.. nobody likes the ****in smell..

Have a google for natures botanical rosemary and cedarwood cream, this stuff is brilliant.
Cheers Andrew

Vanilla Mozzi - fantastic on young kids and anyone with sensitive kids

While I got brought up with the Detol mixtures I would try it out as I did recently and it burned once of our kids. Maybe just give it ago first but it sure did work for Midge bitea
